Henry Wagons here, currently reclining on my bed on this LA smoggy eve, about to embark on the second half of my first fully fledged US tour. Though I’ve played over here in dribs and drabs over the past few years, this is my first attempt to really have a crack at this obese juggernaut of a place in any real sense. Against all odds it’ been going really well, and it looks like me and my band will be coming over here a lot more over the coming years, singing songs and eating burgers.

To get a sense of what’s been happening, here is most of my Tweets from my time here so far. They reveal what’s within the depths of my innermost psyche; obsessions with food, stupid stuff and myself. Enjoy.

6:32 PM Sep 4 - At airport waiting to hop on the plane and wait another 13 hours to get to the US. Can't wait!

3:14 PM Sep 5th - Landed in LA. Smooth flight. Got first of many delicious Mexican meals under my belt. It will be an ever increasing belt.

1:21 PM Sep 6th - Just had a US BBQ which was an amazing ‘make yr own burger’ extravaganza. Then peanut and choc ice-cream! U!S!A!

7:06 PM Sep 6th - Bye for now LA. Getting up in 3 hours to fly to Vancouver!! How will I fit in all the dreams?

5:20 AM Sep 7th - Landed in Seattle. Reminds me of Hobart to look at it. Driving to gig in Vancouver. Looking for a bad roadside diner amongst the pines.

1:12 PM Sep 7th - I'm main support for Justin Townes Earle in Vancouver tonight, (Bobby Bare Jr didnt make it across the border) and about to eat a salmon burger in an empty restaurant. What could go wrong?

4:16 PM Sep 8th - I've just eaten my third bacon and choc chip cookie! True story! Against all odds they are great! Thanks to Josh, Justin TE’s bass player!

5:53 AM Sep 9th - Just knocked over the first egg and lettuce sandwich of the tour. We have begun! Seattle tonight!

10:38 AM Sep 9th - About to go to have food before gig in Seattle. Maybe a Soundgarden salad and a Nirvana split?

10:21 AM Sep 13th - Had a great drive through the redwoods yesterday. Took this where the ewok scenes were filmed. No effect added!

1:06 PM Sep 13th - Due to some weirdness, Im supporting an emo band tonight in Frisco. That fact makes me a bit emo.

6:40 AM Sep 14th - No wonder the San Fran burgers taste a little different! Look what they use in their patties!

6:45 AM Sep 14th - I found a franchise of my own little business on the way back from breakfast.

12:40 PM Sep 14th - At a winery in Livermore, an hour from Frisco about to see a Willie Nelson concert. Can't wait. Surrounded by 70 year old bong heads. Cool.

8:51 AM Sep 15th - We driving from San Fran to LA. In the middle somewhere, full of burrito and Willie Nelson songs.

8:27 PM Sep 15th - Hanging in LA for a while now. Wandering around the local Target I saw this kids costume which adds a few pounds.

PART TWO: Shows with Those Darlins, a couple of festival dates and gigs in New York and Nashville. Lots of frequent flyer miles, lots of polite sitcom-like conversation with the locals and many more dumb Tweets. Follow Henry on Twitter here.
