Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy

Bugliosi, best known as Charles Manson's prosecutor, spent more than 20 years writing this defense of the Warren Commission's conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the slaying of President Kennedy.

Tom Hanks and HBO will be making a doco about this. I was a JFK nut in high school and would love to read it. Has anyone braved it?

i think its reached the point that whatever 'new' evidence or intense research is done, people have already made up their minds whether oswald was either an extremely good or extremely lucky shot, or the grassy knoll is a fine sniper nest.

101010101010101  said about 5 years ago:

In an interview, Bugliosi said that if you're still not convinced after buying his book, he'd give you his money back.

I guess, after 1600 pages you could convince me that dogs can't look up.

''Smoking Man'' from The X-Files shot JFK.

1600 pages? he apparently doesnt know the difference between 'exhaustive' and 'exhausting'.

heehhe gosh he was almost there a few months back. seems to have got a second wind

Castro killed Chuck Barris. Nobody has even acknowledged his death.

Latest (possibly fabricated) evidence points to mob involvement in an attempt to get at bobby and his anti-mob crusade. hitting bobby would have seemed too obvious goes the rationale.

as a conspiracy theory the whole family can enjoy, I wholeheartedly support this version of events. in fact I hope it turns out just like it did in American Tabloid (including jack ruby's personal habits).

Manhattan  said about 5 years ago:

I've read a lot, and it seems blatantly obvious that the New Orleans mafia arranged the hit. To conclude Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone is to ignore mountains of evidence. The Warren Commission was hopeless, either deliberately or just due to incompetence.

Idiot, it's accuracy not velocity.

angelicIV  said about 2 years ago:

nah it was accurate dude., it had a scope. and Oswald knew how to set it up. the velocity confirms the rifles guage man...it wasn't that powerful. but yeah it did the job alright.

Peter  said about 2 years ago:

look, fools, I'm working now & given the choice of arguing with Ill-informed rubes & making money I choose the later.

Anyone ever read this little piece by J.G Ballard? It's called 'The Assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy Considered as a Downhill Motor Race'.

http://www.evergreenreview.com/102/fiction/duo.html

Appears in the 'Atrocity Exhibition'.

slazza  said about 2 years ago:

thanks for the link. that's pretty cool.

Morris Iemma  said about 2 years ago:

Peter, you are growing increasingly more pathetic. Why do you bother writing in a thread in a way that is completely dismissive of everyone's view and then flee when someone attempts to respond? It seems like a complete waste of time, no?

Wait a second...

angelicIV  said about 2 years ago:

peter..jfk show on in a sec. perhaps watch it.

angelicIV  said about 2 years ago:

a good one peter. last night I was back on the conspiracy (for a while) but still it just doesn't add up the 2 shooter thing. mainly cos the acoustic evidence makes no sense. that area around dealy plaza with low walls and it's kind of a bowl shape..well a shot would echo perhaps have a slapback and a repeat as in delay so people could of thought they heard the grassy knowl shot when it was an echo, or a heavy reverb. be interesting to do some acoustic tests in the area and see what echos' delays happened with a large crack or report from a rifle etc...

the primary evidence still makes little sense. not the magic bullet theory more like the angle of the hit. but I might watch jfk again me thinks..

it'll always be fascinating.

pfinger18  said about 2 years ago:

Shit I missed it! Was it part 2 of last weeks doco?

slothman  said about 2 years ago:

has anyone seen that king of the hill episode where dale visits Dealy Plaza? he freaks out because things aren't where he thought they were and it looks likely the Oswald acted alone. quite fucking funny

ToDay LHO was shot by Jack Ruby.

Who had nothing...nothing to do with the mafia being a nightclub owner.
