Ubu  said about 5 years ago:

It is a seriously difficult to find any good clothes without the seasonal trimmings these days. That's why 90% (bar jeans) of my clothes were second hand.

september  said about 5 years ago:

who is this bloke? he sounds like he's on the fast track to being dressed by his wife. you can find those men in mensland or peter jackson yelling out to their wives 'what size am i again?'

anonymous  said about 5 years ago:

king sized menswear.

VelvetDogge  said about 5 years ago:

are we talking clothes for 'round the office or clothes for an evening down the pub ?

tangy_zizzle  said about 5 years ago:

There is a pretty girl who works at cotton on at victoria gardens richmond who will blatantly stare at your package when you're trying on jeans. It's at best exciting and at worst uncomfortable.

shitjockey  said about 5 years ago:

My plan is to now hit up Uniqlo when I'm OS for all my work clothes.

It's probably cheaper for me to fly to Kuala Lumpar and shop at Uniqlo there than it is to buy the same amount of clothes from Country Road or even online (factoring in the bullshit US postage costs).

woolfat  said 23 days ago:

They make better clothes for guys than they do for women - I have so much trouble buying clothes, and my last few purchases have been mens jumpers/shirts. Women's fashion has too much goin' on and to buy good, nice basics costs the world, it seems. You guys are lucky.

dnzr  said 23 days ago:

pffft, goods dudes basics that are horribly cut cost a bunch as well.

want a nice oxford that doesn't sag like a blouse or pull up under your arms?

not getting that for under $60.00

dnzr  said 23 days ago:
  • aren't horribly cut, that should read

woolfat  said 23 days ago:

I'm not talking about CHEAP clothes - I'm just saying that it's easier to get decent basics for a decent price that don't have some god awful embellishment or cut out or whatever the fuck is in fashion at the time.

uniqlo fucking kills it for socks and jocks. i'm not really into their other stuff, but i have heard their 'room pants' are ''the best''.

i'd love uniqlo in melbourne but then it'd ruin the thrill of hitting them up o/s.

tugboat  said 23 days ago:

yeah. good jocks

Velodrone  said 23 days ago:

My last Uniqlo trip I ''copped'' five nice fitting oxford shirts, another button up shirt, two flannies, a crew neck jumper, a pair of jeans, two wollen v-neck jumpers and some socks. So good for work clothing.

My wife got a bunch of nice button up shirts, plus heaps of Orla Kiely x Uniqlo stuff and some shorts.

anok  said 23 days ago:

anyone ever bought from them online?

beaker  said 18 days ago:

Any recommendations for nice slacks for work (pants and shirt type office). Currently wearing a lot of Jack London shirts, but their pants are a little too short for me (30'' waist, 6' tall). I'm kinda new to buying clothes that aren't second hand, so have little idea where to look (in Melbourne).

First Uniqlo to open in Melbourne

Japan’s largest fashion chain Uniqlo is one of many key tenants secured to open at Emporium Melbourne later this year.

The announcement was made as part of Colonial First State (CFS) Property Retail’s 2013 March quarter update. The company holds $575 million share in the development.

CFX fund manager Michalel Gorman said the project is starting to take shape with a number of iconic retailers already secured, such as the country’s first Uniqlo store.

“We are excited to have signed another quality tenant at Emporium Melbourne with the addition of Japanese fast-fashion brand UNIQLO. The store, which is its first in Australia, will be a 3,000 sqm flagship store anchoring our development over four levels,” he said.

“We have been collaborating with UNIQLO for some time both about its expansion plans into Australia and opportunities within our portfolio. UNIQLO’s commitment is further confirmation of the world-class nature of this development.”

Other tenants that will secure a space at Emporium Melbourne are lululemon, MARCS, SABA and M.J. Bale. These are in addition to the tenants including Coach, Topshop, Salvatore Ferragamo, Scanlan & Theodore, sass & bide, Zimmerman, Oroton, Mulberry, Carla Zampatti, Georg Jensen, Alannah Hill, MAX&Co. and Lisa Ho, as well as a range of quality food retailers.

According Gorman, the completion of this development will reinstate the connection between Melbourne Central railway station and Bourke Street mall, historically one of Melbourne’s busiest pedestrian thoroughfares.

I buy work pants from ASOS. They have a lot of cheap options with many variables around measurements. When I say cheap I mean around 20. Sure, they're not the word's nicest pants, but I work in Moonee Ponds, what do I care?

anok  said 18 days ago:

Thanks k2. A trillion pairs of coloured socks, here I come.

Actually UNIQLO might be good for work pants.

CaptainHowdy  said 18 days ago:

i am in dire need of work clothes but i can't find anything. wonder if i can hold out until UNIQLO opens. i want all the shirts.
