i like Cronenberg
i cannot believe no-one is talking about this
i was trying to get in first before the big eastern promises thread started
this film is so good, why isn't everyone getting into it?
here you go
Yeah after reading that chronberg thread a couple of weeks ago I went and saw it the other night. Really good film. My girlfriend liked the Viggo naked fight scene. Perhaps a little too much.
Viggo naked fight scene!!
RAD!! I'll see history of violence first.
I scored the directors cut of VIDEODROME for $2- at an op-shop two months ago!!
not as good as history of violence but better anything since at least crash.
I think you may have contradicted yourself there.
I have heard good things as well, looking forward to seeing it.
wellllll, i guess i could have said 'anything ELSE since crash' but come on
grammatical slip on m&n, what's the world coming to!
it is pretty violent ... think the bathhouse scene is maybe the most violent scene, on a level with irreversible ... the actors or OK, russians ... =the ending was pathetic ...
this movie has affected me ... it is in my head ... FUCK
just watched this.... good... actually I really liked it, despite it ending and me saying ''what... is that it?'' I thought it would be much longer and more would happen. Kinda strange.. but that's Cronenberg for you.
It held my attention but I didn't think it was amazing. I thought more would happen too. It lacked subtext, or something.
I was a bit disappointed with this...could've been a lot more than it was.
I liked it though.
a fairly arduous film to watch but I kinda liked it - stillllllll.......
something lacking.
everyone seems to be of a similar view...
i like this film so much, it's one movie that i wish was longer. i wanna know all about viggo's character.
they definitely could have explored Viggo's character more. i was surprised, and pleased, when it was revealed in the last half hour that he was an undercover. It seemed to be all moving towards setting up so much... could have gone another 40-60 minutes easy.
it ended just right
So do I.
I agree with McGauz that it could've easily gone for at least another 40 minutes, but considering the turgid length of most Hollywood films I think that in this case less is more.
well that is true too... I guess better to leave you wanting more than to carry on and start to shit you.
Cronenberg has a habit of that... making 90 min flicks which leave you hanging a lil'
shit ending.
naomi watts is hot though.
God, Viggo Mortensen is one incredible actor.
