But at least we know that cigarettes and alcohol can cause cancer!
where is thomasr when we need his firefighting skills.
i used to be a ranger firey, i don't know if i could save your children, but if there is a troubled kangaroo i'll know what to do. just let me know suits!

clearly lighting anything right now is going to end badly. killing a fireman is a very good example of this.

Anyone else read the Royal Commission report?
nope - too sad. this year the predicted locust plagues will eat any tinder out there so there'll be no fire fuel - unless biosecurity drench every farm in locust killing chemicals.
3rd anniversary today.
Excellent doco on ABC last night made by a Strathewen local: Then The Wind Changed
Watched the doco, also read [http://textpublishing.com.au/books-and-authors/book/kinglake-350](Kinglake 350) last year.
Doh, this Kinglake 350
Thoughts going out to taswegians today, those fires are horrifying. i've got a few friends down there preparing to evacuate their properties. fingers crossed.
The bushfires in New South Wales looks horrible on TV. Fucking hell.
Amazing photos here. Front page on the Guardian, barely a blip on The Australian front page.
Was on the ABC news, I also saw the report directly from the family and the ABC helicopter flying to pick up the father from his bushwalking trip.
Shits going down in Sydney right now. A few friends may have lost houses. A cousin and a friend are teachers and are both locked in school halls with hundreds of frightened kids. Not good.
Some of the photos I've seen are pretty gnarly, even ones shot from The Shire which is nowhere near the fires.
Not good, poor people. Dad's from Springwood, such a beautiful area. Kind of nervous for my folks' house between Sydney and the Central Coast, was pretty tight 10 years ago during the last bad fires. Nothing nearby at the moment, but boy is it prime for disaster up around Mt Colah and Berowra.
Took some pics on top of the hill in Olympic Park, wind was so strong I had to sit down or get blown over. Looked awful from there. My wife's cousin was moving today in Winmalee, looks like the place they lived in and the place they were moving too are both gone or damaged. Luckily they had most of their things in the truck they escaped in so not all bad.
David Kosch just got an erection.
My stomach is in knots knowing that it's near Newcastle.
Situation currently fucked in Victoria. I hope Edgar's Mission survives okay - they are right in the thick of it at present.
