ATP Australia

Inc.  said about 4 years ago  or at  6:47PM on Friday, August 1 2008 in events

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned this yet!

According to Sticky Carpet it's on in January this year. Nick Cave rumoured to be curating.

Did a quick google but from this website it looks like it might be in Jan and in both Melbourne and Sydney.

This is very exciting. Anyone know anything more about this?

hwct  said about 4 years ago:

Inc.  said about 4 years ago:

It's not on the blog. It's in the link I posted. Scroll down and you find!

It said in Sticky Carpet that they will still waiting to confirm a location.

Do ATP tie in visual artist exhibitions with their festivals / concerts?

Inc.  said about 4 years ago:

I went to ATP this year and they had a small exhibition space. This artist's creations were on sale there. I think they had the small toys that are in the pic on this site, as well as her designs on some t-shirts.

my bloody valentine, please.

manchild  said about 4 years ago:

ski fields is a good call, i've heard that idea being bashed around by people in the know ATP related types. it'll be interesting going to an 'inaugural' one rather than something more established where the kinks have been ironed out.

newsflash - Barry Hogan and Helen Cottage are NOT AUSTRALIAN! Deborah Kee Higgins is.

Does anyone fact check at The Age anymore, or is it all just random speculation?

really bugs me

Urquhart Bluff  said about 4 years ago:

Didn't ATP present the Don't Look Back gigs earlier this year? Which means this isn't necessarily a festival.

mcclap  said about 4 years ago:

whatwhat  said about 4 years ago:

Who gives a shit, it's not happeneing.
Care to share what you know?
No, ok.

anok  said about 3 years ago:

that aint their excuse. they said the ski season has eaten into their prep time (i don't really understand that either). their main concern was logistical issues, which folks have been talking about at length already in this thread over the last 6 months - most of the chatter seems to have disappeared though.

VoxFuzz  said about 3 years ago:

Did you notice that post that sentence it said ''also''? More importantly maybe focus on this sentence ''have decided to take a year off in an attempt to find solutions to the logistical issues with holding the event in such unique surrounds''.

If only you had a vague idea about what those organisers went through and are still going through to put that on, rather than spouting rubbish on here.

What do you want to know? I'll tell you there were logistical issues associated with holding an event in such unique surrounds. That OK?

ghostofbarry  said about 3 years ago:

I was gutted by this news. Was so looking forward to some more January magic atop Buller.

Oh well maybe I'll just go up to Buller and sit on Bourke St with my iPod playing MBV and Swervedriver.

Bring on 2011!

JunkiePhil  said about 3 years ago:

Thanks.
I do have a vague idea, as I worked with them last year, but yes, no excuse to go 'spouting rubbish'

JunkiePhil  said about 3 years ago:

Yea Tee Pee isn't going to go so well because of this.
Thats what I'm really pissed about.

jeebee  said about 3 years ago:

thought you meant bourke st mall for a second then...

VoxFuzz  said about 3 years ago:

Being a volunteer to get a free ticket isn't quite the same thing, but anyway.

JunkiePhil  said about 3 years ago:

Quite the same thing as what?

CaptainFez  said about 3 years ago:

We needs a new thread. This one's eatin' posts.

blake3030  said about 3 years ago:

Just tell him, VoxFuzz.

ghostofbarry  said about 3 years ago:

Pffft. Being squashed by trams is nowhere near as much fun.

kuroneko  said about 3 years ago:

Thread is eating posts. New thread?

Also, fucken!

JunkiePhil  said about 3 years ago:

Ok, Ok, seen as though no one is going to tell ya'll the REAL story, I will.
