Wednesday the 12th of August will be a night of Experimental Pop for Bar Open.
Described as pop-noise and in the same breath as Broadcast and Battles, Touch Typist will be headlining the night. They have been said to have a sound that can whisper melodic sweetness before launching into nuanced electro-acoustic assaults.
Also playing are Experimental Pop fiends Patinka Cha Cha who will be bringing their unique twist of sounds to the stage, using Records and Beat Boxing along with traditional ensemble instrumentation to craft a sound drifting on the edge of dreamy pop and something completely new.
Oscillating between wistful intuition and clinical experimentalism, ii will be bringing their plinks, blips, hums, warbles, meeps, throbs, bangs and clunks to the stage. (These guys don't play many gigs, so make sure you catch them!)
The most recent addition to the Bill is Sydney's Cleptoclectics, who are kicking off the night. Cleptoclectics have been described as Part hip-hop beatmulching, part experimental electronica and part found-sound collage. All in all, it will be a night that will leave your ears tingling.

last time i endosed an interstate Touch Typist gig, tig offered me a free CD.

It was a shame that Touch Typist couldn't play but Nick was so so beautiful as usual... ii were really great as well... except I forgot my ear plugs :(
