So share some love for Preston.
I'm about to move there, reluctantly.
I’ve lived there 5 years ago and didn’t like it so I’m hoping things may have changed a bit… any good café’s/ drinking holes/ shops?

Clifton Hill's better, have you considered there?
Cedars, Breadtop, not to mention Preston Market.
I love living in Preston.
The only downside is there's not much in the way of pubs.
The better cafes are more like the top of end of Thornbury than Preston itself, but still easily walkable.
Preston Library is the jewel in the crown of the Darebin group of libraries.
Aaaah, Preston - the home of La Panella Bakery (465 High Street). Such tasty vegan pies and pasties.
Breadtop? You cannot be serious. LA FUCKING PANELLA FOR THE MOTHERFUCKING WIN. Cedars is pretty sweet too.
YAY for Preston! Preston Proud!! Good cafe on Miller Street (Pearl Oyster), but Co-op is right. Top end of High street Thornbury for cafes (Northern Soul is a cracker), good booze shop just near Louie and Franco's Pizza. Just taken over by some young dudes who have beer tastings on fridays. Masala Craft (Indian) is awesome for take-away, but can be a little pricey. Preston's getting too posh for me. I'm off to Rezzy!
Where is the Public Pool?
kitty somerset (formerly known as the afterdark) has decent cocktails and an interesting range of boozes in general but is a little expensive and probably more northcote/thornbury border.
Northcote or Coburg.
Preston is no longer De-preston.
yeah, missing La Panella was an oversight, but do they sell the Breadtop Chocolate Horn?
And there's Applecore too. (well, a few yards into Thornbury)
So Basically anything worthwhile is actually not in Preston but in a neighbouring suburb... I'm going to hate it aren't I?
you'll get a lot of walking done?
Pho hung is some good asian. Hight st kebabs and high st pizza are good too.
Preston is awesome... don't forget Northland!
hahah! breadtop???
that was the beginning of the end for ole p town.
Pro-Rab all the best.
Preston has changed but slowly. Northcote/Thornbury have great eateries and vibe. Eventually the overflow will hit Preston but it is still ''one circle'' further from radness and city happenings.
i miss the depressden.
keep yer city ''radness''
Preston Pub is the entertainment hub of Melbourne !

Yeah fair enough..I never had a good experience there. Always disappointed.
It's hard to get good meat at a decent price anywhere.
Try the Treasury Gardens toilet block.
Lullzzz..
Ey? I've bought heaps of good meat at the markets!!
In fact, I know a guy that buys his 'roo that he serves in his cafe at the markets. And it's insanely delicious..
Only bad experience was veal shanks. Cooked for 4 hours and inedible. Devastated! The gourmet sausages are mad. Fruit and veg could be better, but a step up for woolies on price.
Prest-resentz!!
Cheapest spring onions in town.
A positive comment about preton hellza? You're slipping man.
Well everything has some eventual good side to it, even this raging shithole.
yup.
Still struggling with those hemorrhoids I see...
Have you caught a Reservoir Buslines bus lately?
Who catches buses?
Invalids, sexually frustrated down syndrome factory workers from Fairfield, girls who can't ride bikes.
And me
And Woolfat... though personally I thought she was covered in that description I gave.
I suppose you could say I'm a little bit of each. A sexually frustrated invalid with a broken bike
You'd be perfect in Preston.
funny shit.
How did I miss this?
