Oh, and Tim Key who won the Perrier in Edinburgh.
I demand more Steve Coogan.
... and Lee Mack.
How is Henry Rollins funny ???
Julian Clary is funny
Pauly Shore is back!
He is the most awful and awesome thing i have ever seen.
I wouldn't see him again, though i would pay to see a Q and A with him hosted by HollyC.
the weezel ..........................
Julian Clary harrah!
Anyone heard of Rich Fulcher?
Ah, he's Booshy.
tix for Rich.
Henry Rollins is hilarious. Really.
Perhaps not always intentionally so, though.
Fingers crossed for another Sam Simmons show.
Simmons is doing a show with Dave Quirk, I think.
because if you don't laugh he will beat you to a pulp?
He tells a good story, Block, but he is also somewhat unaware of his tendency toward douchieness
Here are all the shows on sale. Simmons has a solo show too.
Did anyone in Sydney catch Shaun Micallef and Stephen Curry in Good Evening? Any good?
yeah, i wanna see that too.
Ahh! That looks really great.
Good Evening was much fun when it was up in syd last dec, its probably stronger now for the run.
Of course realise its them doing cook and more material.
Must say, I'm a little saddened that Comedy at Trades pulled out and had to be bailed out by the festival. Hoping it won't affect the vibe. Sucks that all tickets need to be bought through Ticketbastard.

the 'chick thing' was awesome.
lame crowd, great performers (on the whole). really want to see Claudia O'Doherty at some point.
Hmm, Claudia O'Doherty. I saw Monsters of the Deep 3D at the Brisbane comedy fest, and totally didn't get into it. It was a dud night and crowd, admittedly. She's super charming and there were some cute bits, but I didn't find it funny, just self-consciously odd/twee. What am I missing?
Perhaps the sheer imaginativeness that creating a show like that requires, the surprise personalised prop at the end of the show and the way she infused tragedy and pathos into something that was so funny?
Or maybe not.
Heath McIvor & Sammy J in Rickett's Lane. If I had a house, I would bet it on them winning The Barry. Incredible stuff.
Tim Key was the pick of the bunch for me. Just wondering though if the brute strength person in the front row is planted? Either way, I'd root him.
Did you place that bet QE?
Joke of the festival for me:
Pajama Man 1: Knock knock
Pajama Man 2: Who's there?
PJ1: Someone.
PJ2: Someone who?
PJ1: Someone is concerned about your weight and has the courage to tell you.
THE Herald Sun will join forces with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the first time next year.
The festival yesterday announced the Herald Sun as its major media partner to help celebrate its 25th birthday.
The month-long festival, which kicks off on March 30, is one of the world's biggest comedy events, attracting more than 500,000 fans into the city to see more than 300 events across 120 venues.
Editor Simon Pristel said the partnership reinforced the Herald Sun as Victoria's best source of all arts and entertainment news. Big names on next year's line-up include international acts Arj Barker, Tig Notaro, Maria Bamford and the Pajama Men, as well as local stars Wil Anderson, Alan Brough, Carl Barron and Josh Thomas.
Festival general manager Virginia Lovett said she was excited about a major partnership with the Herald Sun.
''Through this association we aim to bring in a new audience to experience this much-loved Melbourne major event,'' she said.
The comedy festival is one of many major events that have teamed up with the Herald Sun.
Others include Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharoahs, which will kick off at the Melbourne Museum in April, the smash-hit musical Hairspray, and upcoming musicals Rock of Ages and Xanadu.
The Herald Sun is also a major partner of crowd favourites Circus Oz, Cirque du Soleil and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Other big events that are long-standing friends of the Herald Sun include the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, and the Royal Melbourne Show.
Maria Bamford is a must see
didn't they drop a arts editor/section recently?
YES to Maria Bamford.
Wonder if The Age/MICF stuff all went bad or what.
so far, same shit.
wait, might have gone early on this... maria bamford could be good.
I'd be happy just going to Pajama Men ten times.
The Brisbane Comedy Festival has a lineup out, so I imagine most everyone there will also be at Melbourne.
This is an interesting (and unexpected) development.
''...said the partnership reinforced the Herald Sun as Victoria's best source of all arts and entertainment news. ''
(ouch)
''Through this association we aim to bring in a new audience to experience this much-loved Melbourne major event,''
(the Herald/Sun audience? More dick jokes, 'wife' jokes, jokes about the demographic of the other major paper's readers...? Just speculating, of course...)
Interesting to see what (if any) changes ensue.
tickets to see the bammer are on sale now. ticketmaster.com.au, $24.
I doubt it, but honestly don't know. Craig Platt seemed pretty down about The Age losing it on Twitter, so it's probably just money. I can't imagine the coverage being any good - some stuff in Confidential each day, a feature in Hit (or whatever it's called now) and maybe something in the weekend magazine. The Last Laugh blog did a good job of covering little local acts, in my opinion they were the reason Celia Paquola did so well (apart from having a kickass show) so hopefully someone else steps up when the HS are busy covering Josh Thomas and Arj Barker.
Excited about The Bammer, excited about Paul F Tompkins, excited about Marc Maron (if the rumours are true).
I really wish Steve Wright would come here
i just found out mike birbiglia is performing in sydney in january, as part of sydney festival. can't find anything about any melbourne shows. i am disappoint.
I wish most comedians who appear at Melb Comedy Festivals didn't come here.
