Good band. Shitty festival. The ongoing dilemma of the Australian music fan.

cooper.  said about 2 years ago:

i honestly can't understand the hype about 'em even one iota.

buttonselgringo  said about 2 years ago:

this band makes no sense to me.

happycow  said about 2 years ago:

Gotta be a sideshow?

Frontman RedEye (Damian Abraham) is hilarious.

Watch him on Fox news:

happycow  said about 2 years ago:

Pink Eyes rather.

The TV segment is called RedEye.

But what about the hype about Circle Pit, Eddie Cuzza and all the other sub-par garage bands that M&Ners wank over?

do you understand that hype?

dnzr  said about 2 years ago:

fingers x'd for a side show with trash talk

gunshot_glitter  said about 2 years ago:

like this band alot. hopefully there will be a sideshow!

goingblank  said about 2 years ago:

There's gotta be a sideshow, surely.

BobMob  said about 2 years ago:

saw em last week at ATP in Monticello, NY. were fucking amazing. def recommend catching their sideshow

flobs  said about 2 years ago:

Fucking awesome news - gonna have to see 'em!

mealzebub  said about 2 years ago:

I saw them at ATP recently and didn't quite get it. Applaud the frontman's gut, though.

kelele  said about 2 years ago:

Side show. keeping tabs.

I don't understand any hype. With Fucked Up I understand it even less though. Weak ass hardcore backed up with pseudo intellectual rhetoric. Pass.

alpsofmessandnoise  said about 2 years ago:

fucked up are kind of fun, cooper, a little overrated though. i saw them at a vice party in london and didn't have a good time, too many fuckwits around, i do enjoy listening to their records at home occasionally.

If Pete Hyde and MATTPHEONIXxx had a lovechild...

hedgehog  said about 2 years ago:

Never heard of this band but what's with all these stupid band names lately! Like 'Holy Fuck' and a bunch of others I can't remember with a whole lot of swearing. Is it meant to be ironic, funny, bad-ass!?!?!?

Shit, I sure am cranky this morning! Sorry.

goingblank  said about 2 years ago:

Sydney sideshow is an opening slot with a bunch of terrible hardcore bands. WHY?!

MelonHCST  said about 2 years ago:

Melbourne show is gonna rule.

dnzr  said about 2 years ago:

Um, cos fucked up are a hardcore band too?

incorrect.

give me proof, Dexter/dnzr... I wanna know more

jbiz  said about 1 year ago:

Smith Street Band has a bandcamp page. What I heard reminded me of the year 1994 and the band Silkworm.

TheBastard  said about 1 year ago:

Smith Street band have improved HEAPS over the last few years. Good guys, fun music.

Helped that they were able to use Fucked Up's backline. Pretty freakin' noice if you ask me... On form last night. Its good when a support band exceeds expectations and also doesn't have a choking moment.

Wasn't a fan of all the bigzing up of Dave Grohl, etc, with Fucked Up but then, those guys invited them over which meant I got to see them PLAY! So I shoudn't complain about that. Bite, hand, feed something something....

Still wished Pink Eye poured vodka all over himself though. I'm a little disappointed about that. Water isn't nearly as exciting!

voted best album of 2011 by spin.
regardless, i'm so loving that photo:

TheBastard  said about 1 year ago:

Does anyone remember the name of the guest guitarist they had when they came?

I can't remember, and my work internet is blocking my searches.

BIG PUSSY  said about 1 year ago:

He played in No Warning- cant remember his name though.

dnzr  said about 1 year ago:

2 dudes from No Warning played with Fucked Up that show.

Ben Cook as been with 'em a while and pretty sure it was Matt De Longe who was the other dude.

TheBastard  said about 1 year ago:

Matt De Longe

YES, that's it.

Bugged the hell outta me

Thank you!

dnzr  said about 1 year ago:

timscottt  said about 9 months ago:

local Melbourne band Ratsak have an early Fucked Up sound but better!

goingblank  said about 9 months ago:

How early are we talking - straight-up hardcore, or when they started mixing in other elements, like on Hidden World?

timscottt  said about 9 months ago:

hidden world. the guitar on one of their songs sounds like baiting the public
