I thought it was a perfectly reasonable and level-headed suggestion, gabbo.

anok  said about 7 months ago:

well done swannies. great team, full of seemingly likeable dudes. nice fans too, as far as i can tell.

steveholt  said about 7 months ago:

Watching replay beyond me how Hannebery didn't get Norm Smith

blake3030  said about 7 months ago:

It seems they did do a deal with the devil in 08.

At least we were competitive.

blake3030  said about 7 months ago:

Hodge's speech was magnificent - class act.

Agree with this. First losing captain in a while to actually not be a total sook and seem like he meant every word he said.

hyperfuzz  said about 7 months ago:

really hating the journo talk about how they ''pinched'' a premiership; they deserved to be there and the fact that the 'premiers' are determined by a single game, well, i don't know why so many people are so confident in predicting it. upsets happen all the time.

also haven't heard much talk (yet) about that friday/saturday fixturing debacle... so, i guess credit to the hawks for not playing that card.

jhf92  said about 7 months ago:

Umpiring was generally spot-on

Thought Swans were actually pretty hard done by, but I guess it's inconsequential now.

Was real nice to see the McVeigh, Reid and Shaw brothers share moments of celebration during their victory lap.

steveholt  said about 7 months ago:

Just goes to show how little 'journos' know. Any self respecting commentator saw Sydney shut down Hawks outside run and struggle when they are forced into 1 on 1. Exactly why Geelong have done so well against Hawks for so long. Surprising was how poorly Hawks coped with it in that 2nd qtr especially after the Crows game last week. Surely they would have expected as much from Sydney.

poprocks96  said about 7 months ago:

I love this time of year, and the free agency stuff should be good too.

Monfries to Port? Goddard to Essendon?

i blame the buddy spoogefest; if he kicked straight they would have won. but he didn't. and rarely will he ever.

nice call by ted bailleu prematch that the hawks were going to win by 80. fuckhead.

hyperfuzz  said about 7 months ago:

Goddard to Essendon, 4 years.

steveholt  said about 7 months ago:

Huge get for Bombers

jimmy hutspah  said about 7 months ago:

indeed. find it strange that st kilda seem to have happily let it happen. whats the story there?

hyperfuzz  said about 7 months ago:

Can't match the offer.

hyperfuzz  said about 7 months ago:
  • will get compo.

steveholt  said about 7 months ago:

From Goddard's point of view it would be a no brainer.

Given his form this year you'd be safe to assume he wanted out for a long time.

jimmy hutspah  said about 7 months ago:

why cant they match the offer? cant or dont want to?

hyperfuzz  said about 7 months ago:

can't afford to, it seems, or maybe don't want to. he probably wants out and essendon are offering an extra year and an extra 100k (according to reports)

crackwhore  said about 7 months ago:

they've got cap issues jimmy, that's why.

anok  said about 7 months ago:

buddy's misses hurt, but he and sewell were the primary reasons we were in the game. being out coached and out-played across the board was the difference. so many moments where experienced heads did catastrophic things (mitchell's 50 before 3qt, hodge ignoring an option to balk into a tackle inside defensive 50, young shitting himself at the death, etc).

Question though- what happens to Clarko now? Has he taken the Hawks as far as he can?

not sure why you're asking that. maybe if we'd finished 5th-8th and bowed out early.

how could they have cap issues? they arent paying 100% are they? reiwoldt and hayes are their only two guns now.

hyperfuzz  said about 7 months ago:

they made the GF two years in a row and everyone got the bonuses, i guess. it sounds like they didn't give him the extra year + cash on principal because it didn't fit into the St. KFC model
