6PM at the Gasometer
Quaoub potters around Sydney, has played with The Garbage & The Flowers. We bootlegged one of his songs for the first wdybm compilation. He mustn't have minded too much, because he agreed to come down and play a rare Melb show for us. He is amazing at playing the acoustic guitar, out of this world, and he sings all low and dark. It will be an excellent show
Rohin Jones sang ''Jesus, you're a fire in my foreskin everyday'' on The Middle East's I Want That You Are Always Happy (Spunk Records). Now that they're no longer kicking on, we thought Rohin wouldn't mind coming down to do some solo stuff and to hang out in Melbourne for a little while.
Andre is from Heavy Yolks and is a ''real piece of shit''. He made a solo tape and got members of Emma Russack's band to back him up live.
Lehmann B. Smith you should already be familiar with. He's that guy who sings all high and makes the world more fun and plays in KES
''We are two monkeys sitting in a ditch''
The residency begins this Sunday at 6PM
residency starts tomorrow!
Alec, that residency... does it start today?
In case I wasn't clear, the residency starts today. sixaclock

Why Don't You Believe Me? Presents:
Hot Palms, Lehmann B. Smith, Emma Russack & Yuko Kono
Saturday 10th November
URA (28 Johnston St, Fitzroy)
Gold coin donation / drinks & food for sale
Hot Palms have a new EP we are releasing on cassette / digitally through Why Don't You Believe Me?. These are live recordings made over a few nights of our September residency in Brunswick this year with some home recordings as well. We're launching the tape on November 10th with some of our favourite artists - Emma Russack, Lehmann B. Smith and Yuko Kono. It's going to be a small and intimate party in the courtyard of URA, a homely little shop of Japanese wares. You will be able to buy cheap tapes, cheap drinks and food too. There'll also be a liquid light show courtesy of URA's Matsu!
HOME RUN - HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GAME VOL 1: 50s
Debut album by Home Run out soon: http://soundcloud.com/whydontyoubelieveme/home-run-giants-vs-indians
Home Run are a Sydney-Based noise duo consisting of German/Australian Jay Cruikshank and Nathan Roche. Their intention is to make racket to old Baseball radio broadcasts from
various decades and push the limits of what could seem like a very narrow and repetitive idea.
For their first release they've selected recordings strictly from the 1950s and hope to progress the style and quality of the cassettes as they make their way into each era from 50s unto present day. Thus becoming more listenable and accessible as the technology of both broadcast and home-recording style increases.
Working with obscure alien soundscapes and distorted feedback. Home Run create an alternate and even disturbing universe where baseball will never die and headaches will never end.
Lincoln Brown (Ghastly Spats/Housewives) features uninvitedly on two-tracks as a demonic next door neighbour screaming over the radio static on the top floor. A harrowing portrait of an overpopulated and feuding inner-city loft.
HOME RUN like all other noise enthusiasts will test the patience of those before them. But even if you only last a few innings of the game at least you can always come back to the highlights.
Playing at a dug out near you. Take me out to the ball game!
Why Don't You Believe Me? Records will release the 10-track album on cassette & download very soon. Visit: http://wdybm.com
Sounds like a great idea. But is their 'making racket' improvisation, or is it more sculpted?
... and are they aware that a racket is more commonly used in tennis, as opposed to baseball?
