It looks good. I thought he said that it started out as a prequel but went on a different tangent; in the same universe but unrelated to the story arc of the first films...
Maybe he's fibbing because he doesn't own the rights? Not sure how that gives him the leeway to reference key elements in the first Alien film like the spaceship and the alien pilot though.
Good preview though, makes me want to see it.
Looks great, that and Dark Knight Rises coming up... good to have some decent blockbusters to look forward to
You're probably right :)

...and the presence of Weyland Industries, who were pivotal behind-the-scenes players in the original movies.
I'm really, really excited for this.
The best trailer I've seen in a long time.
I watched the trailer this mornigna dnhave been on a bar ever since
Did you type that with your tongue?
voice recognition
When we first saw Alien on opening day on 6 December 1979, we had no idea it was a horror film (although perhaps the tagline In space no one can hear you scream should have been a hint)
Have you seen the the UK trailer for Prometheus? A very different emphasis, perhaps more in keeping without how the first film was originally trailed
BTW Weyland Industries website launched a few weeks back
Meet David 8.
There seems to be a fair bit of Mass Effect in there, which is a compliment (I'm thinking mainly the first game).
Anyway, film looks great and really looking forward to it.
There is a ''Prometheus'' in Mass Effect

Wow, that UK trailer is much better than the other one I saw. I haven't been this excited about a movie, let alone a Sci-Fi movie, since District 9.
I mean, since Battleship...
New loooong trailer has been released
Cobra aliens, running space jockeys, collapsing helmet visors and The Company
too much in that trailer, i need to stop watching these things
Fucking kickarse! Ridley Scott should only make sci-fi films.
i was disappointed

I walked out half way through due to shit sound at the Hayden Orpheum, got two free tickets.
Girlfriend stayed and said she should have gone too as the movie didn't get any better.
Super disappointing, absolutely no grandeur. It should have been epic.
I was seriously considering walking out after the prologue, but I'd paid cash moneyz for my ticket and wanted to see some 'splosions.
gotta catch up and see it this week, do I need to see it in 3D/IMAX whatever?? where to see it in Melbourne?

I saw it in 3D at Melbourne Central. I hate the place but it was def worth watching in 3D on the big screen. As for the poster above. Which alien was the black face one?
i think the black face alien in the inforgraphic is holloway after david infected him with the black goo.
watched it last night, nodded off at some point, really have no idea what was going on
why'd the muscly albino hate earth so much??
because we killed Space Jesus.. der
damn, what a mess this was. entertaining, but.
I liked it a lot but I tend to agree that everyone involved in the expedition was a gigantic idiot and a lot of what happened only sort of made sense. I'm thinking about the first two Alien movies, though, and there is a shitload of crap in both of them that is (depending on whether it's the director's cut or not) either deeply perplexing or kind of stupid. And I actually kind of like things that way - the Alien universe is traditionally one in which confusion and stupidity are given free reign.
what a steaming, steaming turd.
Red Letter Media talks about Prometheus
I'm sure this has already been posted... it brings the ha-has.
Blade Runner and Prometheus and Alien linked

I like the 'honest trailer' for Prometheus
My favourite part is the bit where Charlize and cute gal are running from the falling spacecraft. Cutie face what's her name goddamn Noomi ~ROLLS TWICE~ out of the way of the craft, while Charlize keeps running, getting crushed. Good work Charlz.
Shit! Now I'm going to have to see the film just so I can enjoy the Red Letter review. I trust it's a Plinkett review?
Big promises from upcoming DVD/Blu release:
QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED WITH NEVER BEFORE SEEN EXTRAS INCLUDING AN ALTERNATE BEGINNING AND ENDING
If there was an alternate middle as well, I might be tempted to get it.
cute gal appeared to have a lot of plastic in her face
As this was my first exposure to Red Letter Media..I do not know, but I don't think so.
Saw it couple night ago..yeahhhhhhhhh I kinda see the hate here. It sort of reminded me in sections of a mash up in many ways. Many monsters spoil the broth etc. Also it seemed weirdly paced like it couldn't work out if it was a thriller or action adventure so it seemed to slip into hybrid movie mode where bits had some tension then it's just stupid action adventure...
