My father-in-law has been making slivovitz for the last 20 or so years and I have been bugging him for years to teach me, he finally relented. I am so looking forward to this. Every year his batch gets better and better...it really is mothers milk.

We are about to embark on making sake.

Ben  said about 11 months ago:

really k2!? have you been letting it 'mash' and about to distil?

Block  said about 11 months ago:

Are you talking turbo yeast, raw alcohol and flavoring, Ben?
Fuck that shit.

Ben  said about 11 months ago:

I live near italians... and I saw one of these... and it got me wondering

of course it's not legal in Aus

Ben  said about 11 months ago:

perhaps I meant ''wash''.. not ''mash'' k2

my aunt & uncle has been making their own bourbon for ages. She's waiting on a liver transplant

k2  said about 11 months ago:

Haven't started yet. Sourcing koji spores for the fermentation process. Plus I need to find something that will keep the glass at 10c for 3 weeks.

k2  said about 11 months ago:

Also sake is not distilled, it's brewed like beer

Block  said about 11 months ago:

k2- bar fridge with a temp controller. Or just sit the fermenter outside, in the shade, next month.
I've always wanted to try freeze distilling , but do not have access to a spare icecream freezer.

dj  said about 11 months ago:

Ben  said about 11 months ago:
