Family Guy

PelicanGodOfJupiter  said about 6 years ago  or at  11:39AM on Monday, July 3 2006 in chat

I got season 4 on DVD yesterday. It came with a cardboard box to put all of your DVDs in... but it fits 5 DVDs... which means now I have to buy that bloody outtakes one!

Smart marketing that is.

Its a stupid show. The simspons and south park are much better, man.

Genius!

I'm hot & cold on Family Guy. Some nights I love it, some I don't. Life, eh.

That South Park pisstake was pretty funny.

iamthewalrus  said about 6 years ago:

or buy the 4 seasons and the movie. saves buying the outtakes one.

PelicanGodOfJupiter  said about 6 years ago:

Yeah I was watching these FG episodes last night (I had only seen about two episodes from this season) and either I am over it, or it's just not as funny as it used to be.

Those manatees are losing their schtick!

medicineman  said about 6 years ago:

or pelican - you could buy the stewie griffin movie and put that in the box instead.

Snrub  said about 6 years ago:

You should get the Family Guy DVD movie to go into that DVD box with the other seasons, PelicanGodofJupiter. It's pretty good!

Mo  said about 6 years ago:

season 2 of family guy was the best

theyre going quickly downhill

i wanna see the south park pisstake

PelicanGodOfJupiter  said about 6 years ago:

I have the DVD, but only a burnt copy...

MAYBE I WANT THE OUTTAKES ONE!

(Which I don't)

I'm one of those people who just HAS to have the whole set. That's why I haven't started on the Simpsons DVDs, I'll send myself broke.

Snrub  said about 6 years ago:

I think season 4 is best! "Petarded" is the best Family Guy episode ever!!

aquatic  said about 6 years ago:

Petarded is a disturbing episode

PelicanGodOfJupiter  said about 6 years ago:

Haha, "the vagina monologues" in that episode was pretty fucking funny.

PelicanGodOfJupiter  said about 6 years ago:

"I'm not afraid of a challenge, like that time I out-farted Michael Moore!"

BAHAHAHAHAHA

That was the funniest piece of TV ever.

medicineman  said about 6 years ago:

i do like the star wars award ceremony homage in the episode where peter saves the owner of the clam.

Goodbye_beret!  said about 6 years ago:

Family Guy pisses all over South Park and much recent Simpsons too I must say.

aquatic  said about 6 years ago:

is it season 5 thats on tele now?

Mo  said about 6 years ago:

goodbye beret - i disagree

even these new simpsons and south parks are still infinitely more re-watchable than family guy

family guy - loved it when it came out - but by season 3 everything was going downhill and secondly - the shows dont stand up to repeat viewings

PelicanGodOfJupiter  said about 6 years ago:

I can't watch anything a 2nd time... unless there has been a long time in between.

Goodbye_beret!  said about 6 years ago:

I didn't know anyone still watches South park. meh.............

Mo  said about 6 years ago:

oh dear how terribley unhip of me

wait kids dont say hip these days either!!!

oh god what a crisis

k2  said about 6 years ago:

south park is awesome these days.

Recently watching them on DVD.

Up to session 4.

''Quagmire rapes Marge then kills the rest of The Simpsons'' is pretty wrong and NOT funny.

liamsnice  said about 3 years ago:

as much as i love family guy i must admit i was sad to see 3 episodes in a row on channel seven last night and no american dad.

adam  said about 3 years ago:

are you serious? sending around highlight clips on youtube is one of the highlights of my friday arvo. (that and ten green cans...)

annehelena  said about 3 years ago:

I don't like American Dad as much as Family Guy.

This made me happy.

tugboat  said about 3 years ago:

Family Guy is much better. American Dad sucks ballz.

Interviewer: So, Peter, where do you see yourself in ten years?
Peter Griffin: (thinks) Don't say doin' your wife, don't say doin' your wife... (out loud) Doin' your, er...
(sees photo of interviewer on the beach with his wife and son)
Peter Griffin: ... son?

I really hate the whole ''funny because it's offensive'' stuff, especially if there's NO ACTUAL GAG.

It's shit.

slothman  said about 11 months ago:

that's some ''outstanding comedy'' right there

GrantleyBuffalo  said about 11 months ago:

Watch it in 5-minute bursts. You'll get at least one genuinely funny line, and when it reverts to tedious garbage, just change the channel. Works for me.

GrantleyBuffalo  said about 11 months ago:

''You can't spell overreaction without ovary.'' - Peter Griffin

I was gonna post that in the Feminism thread yesterday, but you know how touchy those chicks can get.

moribunderast  said about 11 months ago:

Can anyone pinpoint the time when Family Guy stopped being funny and turned into a show for frat boys? It's still capable of good stuff but the good stuff is buried amongst so much racism, misogyny and cruelty that it's harder and harder to want to bother with.

It's not even the offensiveness, really. It's that coupled with lack of wit and subtlety that makes it a pretty shithouse mix nowadays.

I saw Ted last night. It was pretty good. Better than I expected actually.

djbollocks  said about 10 months ago:

Ted was great. The party scene in particular was gold. I pissed myself at the 90's karaoke.

hyperfuzz  said about 10 months ago:

I enjoyed the film overall but I could easily go without hearing any Seth Macfarlaine do that voice for the rest of my days. Or any of his three voices, for that matter.

pfinger18  said about 10 months ago:

Margaret and David's review of Ted:

MARGARET: David?

DAVID: I thought TED was really quite funny and it is a funny concept this.

MARGARET: Is it sort of guilty laughter that we're...

DAVID: No, I think a lot of it is - I loved a lot of the pop culture references. I think it was nice that they really take the piss out of the 1980 Mick Hodges' film of FLASH GORDON...

MARGARET: Yes.

DAVID: ...which was a pretty bad film and its leading actor Sam J. Jones, who I think Ted at one stage says his performance sort of redefines the word acting or something like that, and then Jones comes in and makes a fool of himself all over again in a really nice sort of way and I loved a lot of things about this. It's a shame that it actually resorts to fart jokes and toilet humour. That doesn't amuse me so much really.

MARGARET: Well, no.

DAVID: You've seen one fart joke, you've seen them all.

MARGARET: But you sort of feel that - it makes you want to seek out the television series to see what he does on television, to tell you the truth.

DAVID: Yes, I'm not sure I'd be that keen. I like Norah Jones confessing she had sex with him and it wasn't bad for someone without a penis. I thought that was a nice joke.

MARGARET: So you do like sort of low humour on occasions?

DAVID: Well, it's the toilet humour I don't like. I don't mind the sex humour. It's the toilet humour that I'm not so keen on.

MARGARET: Let's just score this and move on. I'm giving it three and a half.

DAVID: Three and a half from me too.
