Tetsuyas is the one that always comes up at some stage when price naught matter, too
Going this weekend, Jones. Is Cafe Pacifico really good? What is good about it?
Anon, are you toying with me?
I need reasons as to why these places are so good.
KIKIs
on victoria street in darlinghurst
fantastic restaurant.
there was a review on this place in the SMH spectrum newspaper last week
icebergs, fantastic service, incredible food and wine list and watch sun set at bondi beach. what more would you want.
if you are coming from melbs, you have structural man made beauty, but you have shithouse natural beauty like beaches.
tetsuyas
Proudly, this year year Tetsuya's was awarded the highest rating in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2006 (Three Chef's Hats), Restaurant of the Year and Best Fine Dining at the Restaurant & Catering Association Awards 2005.In
Nothing is good about Pacifico, unless you count incompetent waitstaff, rude management, headache inducing noise levels and overbooking so you're forced to spend more money on their overpriced beverages while waiting for your table as good.
cafe pacifico: food is ok, mexican kind of deal, great tequilas, hectic but fun atmosphere (at times), but horrendously overpriced.
Billy Kwong's on Crown, or Bill's right next to it....
billy kwong's is apparently good.
all the rich chicks i know love it.
bills is MOR if money is no object. more of a weekday meal
Here's a little Guide
I shoulda drank more of those tequilas when I visited, it may have made the dining part of the evening more bearable.

Yullis?
and for general updates on what's good to eat in this city I recommend following the the unbearable lightness of being hungry blog.
I think Yulli's was vetoed on the basis of it always rammed on a Friday night, unfortunately. I will look at the blog though. Thanks!
Former resident of these hallowed halls and all round good guy CaptainLeSnak had his restaurant open last night in the city:
http://thedip.com.au/
go forth, and eat!
note, i'm not in the kitchen.
AHA this is the thread I wanted, repost:
Has anyone been to Duke Bistro?
Also does anyone have any good recommendations for a party venue - last time I had it at Bloodwood and previously at Yulli's but am struggling to find a place that doesn't charge a set banquet that's way expensive or have some kind of minimum spend...
Also I did consider The Dip and Eathouse Diner but they both only do early bookings...
So am considering Norfolk but have heard it's always crazy busy.
Just made a successful booking for momofuku seiōbo for next week, hell yeahs
I've got a weekend in Sydney in January. What're the must eats?
Porteno
seconded.
please let us know about your momfuku experience... hanging to go there....

How was it?
It's on Friday. Will report.
Was Amazing, a touch on the pricey side, but still feels worth it. Going for another drink, will say more later.
Had a very enjoyable meal at Toko last night.
still owed a momofuku report!
Went to go to the dip on my last day in Sydney today and then realised it's not open on Sunday's. I was disappoint.
Went to dinner at The Boathouse, Glebe last week. I've been there a few times in the past but the quality during this last visit was top notch. Next to Flying Fish, this is probably my favourite top end place to eat.
Is Yullis babies/kids friendly?
Mad Spud is so awesome. Fucken potato nachos rules. (As in, potato skins instead of corn chips)
