Steve Coogan is 'Saxondale'

HEB  said about 6 years ago  or at  8:51PM on Saturday, July 8 2006 in television

New seven part series on the BBC, from Baby Cow Productions

Meet Tommy Saxondale, an ex-roadie with anger management issues and a pest control business...

Survivor of a hostile divorce, Tommy now lives with his girlfriend Magz, proprietress of the anarchic T-shirt shop Smash the System. Tommy regards himself as a maverick and a free-thinker and takes every opportunity to impart his wisdom to his young assistant Raymond. And as well as Pharaoh ants, mice and occasionally moths, Tommy has to battle with snowboarders, pigeon-loving activists... and people who talk about property prices.

this will be great.. love Steve Coogan

HEB  said about 6 years ago:

It is good

Different style of character for Coogan - works well for the most part, and has some cracking one-liners too.

HEB  said about 6 years ago:

Episode 4 of 7 tonight...

Looks like it {and The Mighty Boosh} may soon be remade for a US audience too!

the power of 666  said about 6 years ago:

Mighty Boosh remade?!?!

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH AMERICA? Fuck, can't they enjoy something that isn't created within their country?

torrents for the first 3. All really fast too! I've got from 250 to 600kbps on em.

MidnightMinnie  said about 6 years ago:

I watched part of it and I thought it sucked.. vaguely amusing lines but nothing that cracked a real laugh out of me..

I love I'm Alan Partridge though..

the power of 666  said about 6 years ago:

HEB  said about 6 years ago:

James The Book Group / I'm Alan Partridge! Lance is the guest star of Episode 4....

the power of 666  said about 6 years ago:

THIS IS EXCELLENT! I don't know what people expected when they don't get out loud laughs! Genius awkwardness from the master himself! And a gifted touch for using the most horrible, everyday non jokes. This show could end up excellent!

Thanks for the heads up m&n!

anonymous  said about 6 years ago:

still downloading.

watches torrent

run torrent run!

Wonky  said about 6 years ago:

The first episode was a bit weak, the second was good and the third was even better. It's not up to Alan Partridge levels of excellence, but it's definitely worth watching.

the power of 666  said about 6 years ago:

This was the fastest torrent i've ever downloaded I think. 7 minutes for all 3 eps, 700meg. Ahh the memories...

But yeah, I think for music fans and people who have been in contact with people like that, his accuracy rings true.

It 'could' reach Partridge power, but either way, it's really good!

didn't enjoy seeing him at all, it was like watching something from a bad theatre restaurant. hopefully it won't spoil the experience of watching his movies.

pking  said about 4 years ago:

he used *a lot * of his old material... a mortgage tour

__v  said about 4 years ago:

good but not great last night in sydney

i think tony ferrino got the biggest laugh from me - about he and his first wife wanting different things from life - he wanted to travel the world & experience different cultures first-hand - while she wanted to be a fat pig

enjoyed the encore song an awful lot, and the little bit of old-school luvvie acting beforehand was perfect and maybe my favourite bit of the night

sharptooth  said about 3 years ago:

this looks utterly horrible...

sharptooth  said about 3 years ago:

sorry, meant to add the film description:

WHAT GOES UP is a film about a morally challenged New York reporter, Campbell Babbitt (Steve Coogan), who learns life lessons from a group of dysfunctional students (Hilary Duff, Josh Peck, Olivia Thirlby) while covering the hometown hoopla surrounding the first teacher in space. Set in the 1980s, this is a poignant look at how heroes are made in a world devoid of heroes. Upon arriving in the small New Hampshire town, Babbitt decides to call an old college friend, only to discover an apparent suicide. Babbitt gravitates toward his friend’s high-school students ...
