"Keep on smiling and bye for now"
I met Pete Shelley in a pub in London in May, and he told me then that as far as he knew they'll playing 3 shows at the P.O.W in September!
And that's all I remember because I was a bit excited! (and tipsy)
I think he said around the 16th of September.

some local band that play here all the time.
are buzzcocks playing the stuff of Spiral Scratch??
So maybe I can miss them and see the buzzcocks at 10:30 and see them at their own show if they're worth catching?
Well, I guess you can think of it as seeing them for free, since you're already going to the venue for the headline...
coolestjerk: No, it's the first two albums & singles (Another Music In A Different Kitchen & Love Bites).
but the promise of free booze and food at q bar first seems really enticing. Otherwise i'd be there on door opening times.
Oh yeah, reckon there'll be door payment available, or do i need to attend my ''nearest moshtix outlet'' today?
going to Hobart to see this should be a .... err BUZZ
buzzcocks - not bad! Heaps better than I was expecting.
The middle of Love Bites drags a bit, they kept playing the intro to Boredom and not following through, and the bassist and drummer are session cocks.
But damn, not bad.
saw them in chch. veils opening = epic and sensational. buzzcocks were way better than i thought they would be - it's strange i couldn't help but think of that british film with bill nighy about washed up brit rockstars reforming... but the way they never stopped between songs and the energy reminded me of jay reatard. much energy, loud as all ** and some classic songs made for a good night out!
veils were the winner on the night though...
Yep. Tinitus went up a couple of notches.
Great set. Played in album sequence too. Short. Sharp.
Coolesjerk, the first album starts & ends with the intro to Boredom. I was quite upset they didn't play it though, as apart from the two albums, they were advertised to play the singles.
I wasn't getting my hopes up for any of the awesome Devoto stuff to appear.
I'd pay the price alone just to hear Spiral Scratch with Devoto. Get onto that shit promoters.
This was SO much fun last night!
And SOOOOO much better than the last Melbourne gig a few years ago too.
apparently there's a review of the buzzcocks / spazzys in this week's sydney street press..... anyone got access?
yep. i'll pick you up a copy on my way home.
My bro is going to see 'em tonight play with three different lineups, including the original Spiral Scratch-era lineup with Howard Devoto. Sounds like a good gig.
Where?
Garvey?
London, Brixton Acadamy.
Er, Academy
Seeing the Buzzcocks live is one band on my bucket list.
