Minus the bear

realtimestrategies  said about 6 years ago  or at  2:36PM on Monday, March 19 2007 in competitions

Seems the old board was deleted just wanted to appreciate the fingertappin melody masters. Sure the lyrics are crud, but ive been listeneing to highly refined pirates for 4 or 5 years and it still reasonates with me.

Bring em out here

I've think I've had my head in the ground, why hadn't I heard these guys earlier?

I've just downloaded a lot their stuff (shame on me) and I can't wait to get it on vinyl.

It reminds me of Jawbox and Polvo

plaidplaidgirl  said about 5 years ago:

They're pretty good.

Just did the American leg of Taste of Chaos (for some reason), hopefully that will lead to more exposure which will lead to a tour.

Goal attack  said about 5 years ago:

new album in august.

Goal attack  said about 5 years ago:

but you may already know that.

plaidplaidgirl  said about 5 years ago:

Actually, I'm getting mixed up/misinformed about the ToC.

lays down crackpipe

gabbo  said about 5 years ago:

i would love to see these guys live.

i love both albums, but pirates is a great album.

Myspazz bulletin:

''Mainland European dates will be announced shortly and we've got an Australia/Japan tour in the works for early 2008! See you all soon!''

Awesome.

gabbo  said about 5 years ago:

yaya!

their latest album is a little weak. i hope they don't assume we (Asutralian audience) only have Planet of Ice.

the power of 666  said about 5 years ago:

I heard a song of these dudes for the first time yesterday, had never heard of them before. Awesome shit!

knerf  said about 4 years ago:

Ooooh, I'll be in melbs for this! Next no good Filts?

filterfeed  said about 4 years ago:

oh wait, colonial? never been there. was thinking of another dodgy king street venue attended for only melbourne show purposes. or perhaps that time that tenrapid dragged us to an emo club to see gaslight radio. it's scary but true.

any fears can be drowned in a fuckload of pre-drinks, am sure of it.

lokihanns  said about 4 years ago:

Bad news, the old colonial is the place where click click used to be held.

I'm pretty sure you've been there.

filterfeed  said about 4 years ago:

aw, man.

what's the point of this tour? is it about playing the biggest shitholes australia has to offer? top idea. they should get kunnington to support and provide commentary.

gunshot_glitter  said about 4 years ago:

hahaha.

gabbo  said about 4 years ago:

fuck it. I'm going to Next. Anyone with me?

gunshot_glitter  said about 4 years ago:

I can't go now...and I bet you the reason is because the person I am filling in for is going to the gig. Injustice!

filterfeed  said about 4 years ago:

not too far away now!

gabbo  said about 3 years ago:

new album is kinda lame.

i think they are getting too old. that first album still rules though.

MelonHCST  said about 11 months ago:

New album in August. There's a teaser on YouTube, cbf linking.

NiteShok  said about 8 months ago:

New album is a return to the guitar-heavy shit of their first couple which is GREAT NEWS. Sounds nothing like 'Omni'. Enjoying this a lot.
