‘Superband’ At Earth Hour

A one-off, never-to-be-repeated “superband” will perform at an Earth Hour event in Melbourne on March 28.

Featuring Ash Naylor, Wally Kempton, Matthew Cotter and Bruce Haymes – er, isn’t that just Even plus one? – the band will perform with special guests including Kram (Spiderbait), Chris Cheney (The Living End), Nic Cester (Jet) and Renee Geyer.

The free concert at Federation Square, which will be “powered by bicycles”, will also feature performances by Augie March, Australian Idol runner-up Jessica Mauboy and Axle Whitehead, the guy who exposed his bits at the ARIAs.

Fresh from The Oils’ reunion at Sound Relief, Environment Minister Peter Garrett will deliver a brief opening speech.

If I had to choose people to play in a blackout, most of them would probably be there.
