Muscles’ Mornington Comeback

After ending 2008 with several epic fails – an ill-fated Ben Lee interview, a much publicised Modular bust-up and the best/worst gig of the year with Tim Rogers – Muscles has wisely kept himself off the radar for most of 2009. Thankfully – for the sake of our page views more than anything – he’s back via yet another festival.

In what’s been billed as “his first performance in almost a year” (guess that FBi fundraiser in June doesn’t count?), Muscles will perform at the Solar Music Festival at Mornington Racecourse in Victoria on January 3. Other bands confirmed in the first round include Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Birds of Tokyo, The Grates, Red Riders and 28 Days (yep, rap rock really is the genre that refuses to die). Full line-up below.

In true “if you build it they will come” fashion, the event attracted more than 16,000 people in its inaugural year. Tickets: $95 on sale tomorrow (October 30) via solarfestival.com.au.

All Aussie! The guys running it are just a group of young guys who love music and don't care about the money.

Cassius at Solar? Huh?

Surely this is not Cassius featuring Philippe Zdar?

As awesome as that would be, Thunderheist appear to be some kind of electro duo from overseas.
