Circle Pit Added To Lunchbox #3
News posted Friday, April 16 2010 at 12:00 PM.
Related: Circle Pit, Lunchbox, Lost Animal.
By popular demand, Sydney’s Circle Pit have been added to the bill for M+N’s next Lunchbox show
Featuring Lost Animal (aka Jarrod Quarrell of St Helens and New Season fame/notoriety), the gig will take place at 1000 £ Bend in Melbourne’s CBD next Friday (April 23), 1pm. It’s the third in the series, following sets by Denim Owl and Otouto.
Playing in full band mode, with Quarrell on bass, Circle Pit will perform songs from their debut LP Bruise Constellation, which is out via Timberyard this month. Forming just over two years ago from the ashes of Kiosk, Circle Pit recently supported The Yeah Yeahs Yeahs on their national tour.
Both bands will play abbreviated sets as an entree to their gig at The Birmingham with Panel of Judges that same evening.
Entry to the Lunchbox show is free. For news, videos and more updates visit our dedicated Lunchbox series page.

They were pretty good, not at all what I expected. Almost...shy. And nice folks, too, though they need to sack their drumstick roadie.
Nice to hear a noisy act in that space.
Quote of the day- ''When should we beat him up?''

I was pleasantly surprised by Circle Pit. They had good hooks, good songs, looked good on stage. I'll have to hustle a copy of the album up from somebody and give it a listen.
Lost Animal ... not so impressed. It reminded me way too much of stuff I've seen at open mics. The keyboard drums, overly sincere songs, overly sincere singing. Not my cuppa tea I'm afraid.
school of radiant living tonight! yes!
thanks to everyone for coming down. and to lost animal and, especially, jarrod for being such champs.
a fun time was had by all.
pics and vids soon!
I quite enjoyed the lost animal set
Circle Pit kinda didnt suit the room much... not sure that loud guitars and live drums work well in that space
Pretty weird yall had so much to say prior to em playing around melbs, now next to nigh is being said....
That's Melbourne for ya, really.
I enjoyed All the shows I saw em do whilst in town.
Come back anytime, CP.
doubt many of the haters went along JP.
checked them out at the Birmy, agree with earlier comments that the room didn't really suit them that much. thought they had a great sound, just vocals were really hard to make out in the racket
and im quite disappointed that St Helens is gone in favour of Lost Animals, not a patch on it for me
Great at the Empress
