News posted Monday, May 10 2010 at 01:00 PM.
Related: Pikelet, Lunchbox.

Following last month’s first double header – Sydney’s notorious Circle Pit and Lost AnimalM+N presents the fourth installment of its monthly “Lunchbox” series at 1000 ₤ Bend in Melbourne’s CBD.

Performing a free show at The Bend’s purpose-built exhibition space on June 11 will be Pikelet, aka Evelyn Morris. Performing in full band mode – Morris along with Shags Chamberlain (synths), Tarquin Manek (bass, clarinet and backing vocals) and Matthew Cox (drums) – Pikelet will be performing songs from her recently released second album, the wonderfully psychedelic Stem. Released through Chapter Music and Love+Mercy in February, the album was unveiled at a series of east-coast launch shows last month, including a headline performance at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club. Read about Stem’s genesis here.

The Lunchbox show will kick off at 1pm and will be filmed live for M+N TV. Check out past photos, videos and news about upcoming events at our dedicated Lunchbox page.

My favorite bit was at the start, when Evelyn drove a black Mustang soft top through the crowd, pulled a perfect screaming handbrake turn/stop at the side of the stage, and leapt out while the car was still rocking on it's springs.

HUF.  said about 2 years ago:

that really happened?

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

This was the best sounding of the 3 I've seen here (1st, 3rd and 4th)
Biggest turn out too.
I had to bail when they had two songs left but really dug it.
Weakest Link is a great song and always give off a Primal Scream vibe for me.
Well done, yet again.
Keep doing these, tis great to have a few stubbies and watch a band on ya work break whist being harrased about your scaff by Block.

bamesjaker  said about 2 years ago:

You're in a gang - why didn't you threaten to beat him up outside?

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

Gangs aren't always about beating dudes.
Mine is though, I got drunk and forgot.

Block  said about 2 years ago:

Don't make me set fire to your beard, JP.

Great show! One of the best I've seen Pikelet band do. New songs are particularly awesome.

registradus  said about 2 years ago:

that was great. I was really surprised by the sound quality, thought it would be all echo-y and shite but was really good. mac's gold ale = awesome too

pking  said about 2 years ago:
