– Melbourne’s Pikelet has announced a “brief but enthusiastic Australian tour” in May. The Evelyn Morris-fronted outfit, who were among the nine nominees of the Australian Music Prize, will play shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. The upcoming shows will be the band’s last for “some time” as they begin work on their third album, the follow-up to last year’s Stem. (Photo by Lauren Bamford)

– Following sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, The Holidays have added a bunch of extra dates to their national “Seven Million Mornings” tour. The Sydney outfit will now kick off their tour at the University of New England in Armidale, NSW, tomorrow (March 30). They’ve also added shows at the University of Wollongong on March 31, The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle on April 1, Karova Lounge in Ballarat on April 6, a second show at The East Brunswick Club in Melbourne on April 10 and Transit Bar in Canberra on April 23. The band have just returned from their first US tour, and are scheduled to return overseas for The Great Escape festival in the UK in May. For more local tour dates click here.
– In the vein of the “Triple Rainbow Tour” (Ball Park Music, Eagle & The Worm and We Say Bamboulee) and the “Here’s Johnny Tour” (Jonathan Boulet and The John Steel Singers), comes the “Super Commuter Tour”, another double billing of like-minded indie acts. This time it’s two sextets, Sydney’s Guineafowl and Brisbane’s Ball Park Music, who will embark on an eight-date east-coast tour next month. Supports include Tin Sparrow (Sydney), Mosman Alder (Brisbane) and Husky (Melbourne).
