M+N Lunchbox #10: Henry Wagons

It’s our 10th Lunchbox gig next month – and we’re celebrating in style with a performance by the inimitable Henry Wagons.
The lead singer of Melbourne outlaw-country collective Wagons will perform a free show on May 20, 1pm, in our new space at The Workers Club in Fitzroy (on the outskirts of Melbourne’s CBD). Henry will be playing songs from Wagons’ fifth album Rumble, Shake and Tumble, which comes out through Spunk Records on May 6. The performance will precede the band’s “most expansive” national tour yet, taking in Tasmania, the east and west coasts, South Australia and Queensland before its grand finale at The Forum Theatre in the band’s hometown of Melbourne. Dates here.
The Workers was the site of our last Lunchbox performance by Adalita in March, which saw 180-plus people jam into the band room for a free 30-minute performance by the Magic Dirt frontwoman. In other words: get there early. There’ll also be a sausage sizzle and cheap beers.
As always, the performance will be recorded for later consumption on M+N TV. Past Lunchbox acts have included the aforementioned Adalita, Gareth Liddiard, Pikelet and Otouto. Check out photos, videos and news about upcoming events at our dedicated Lunchbox page.
