NME’s ghosts of past and present will collide when The Vines head out on the road for a national tour with Bleeding Knees club in August.
The Gold Coast duo, who were recently included in NME’s “50 Best New Bands of 2011” list, will join Papa vs Pretty as main supports for The Vines’ tour in support of fifth album Future Primitive.
Produced in Sydney by Chris Colona from the Bumblebeez (who some credit with ruining Wolf & Cub’s last record) and mixed in Paris by Julien Delfaud, Future Primitive is out now through The Vines’ new label Sony. Frontman Craig Nicholls: “It’s about being in the wrong time. It’s about what I think I am. It’s about not being connected to technology. I don’t think I’m missing out on anything, I just don’t understand it. I don’t know how to drive. I can’t use the computer. I don’t have an email address or a mobile phone. I like playing guitar and writing songs. And I still like CDs.”
Following the tour, The Vines will play dates in Japan, South America and Europe. Tickets on sale this Friday (June 17).

I find these things hard to believe:
having met and interviewed craig, i don't have trouble believing that at all.
Is he a dumb fuck?
Don't think he'd have the attention span. ''04...04...fuck it.''
Dumb like a fox!
Anyone got a cheap ticket or 2 to tomorrow's show?
