Gin Clubber, Wilson Picker, Giant of Science and all-round Brisbane institution Ben Salter will perform at the next installment of M+N’s Lunchbox series.
To celebrate the release of his debut solo album The Cat, Salter will perform a free show on July 29, 1pm, at The Workers Club in Fitzroy (on the outskirts of Melbourne’s CBD). Recorded and produced by Gareth Liddiard (The Drones) and Robert F. Cranny (Sarah Blasko, 78 Saab) at Liddiard’s rural studio in Havilah, Victoria, the album has been described as a “strange beast – a blend of avant-garde pop, folk and rock”. It’ll be out on August 5 independently through MGM Distribution.
The Workers was the site of our last Lunchbox gig in May, which saw a full house pack in for an acoustic performance by Henry Wagons. As always, the performance will be recorded for later consumption on M+N TV.
Past Lunchbox acts have included Adalita, Gareth Liddiard, Pikelet and Otouto. Check out photos, videos and news about upcoming events at our dedicated Lunchbox page. There’ll also be a sausage sizzle and cheap beers on the day.

Love a good excuse to go to 'meetings' in Melbourne
The Wagons Lunchbox was also memorbale for the Worst Sausage I've Ever Eaten.
I suggest y'all BYO Lunch, unless they get some bratwurst in and FUCKING COOK THEM PROPERLY.
Ahh shame.. I'll be in Queensland. Way to switch states Salter.
Can lunchbox be changed to after work drinks please?
You know, since we're not at school any more (ahem, well some of us).
I'm too old to stay out til midnight on Fridays. I want to see a band at 6.30pm and be home in bed by 8.30pm.
