M+N Presents Leader Cheetah

Adelaide’s Leader Cheetah have announced a national album launch tour in August/September.
The band will play 14 dates all up in support of new record Lotus Skies (out July 15 through Spunk/EMI). The album was recorded in late 2010 at Sydney’s BJB Studios with producer Scott Horscroft (The Panics, Little Red), who wanted to capture the essence of the song without clutter.
“The approach was very melody-driven,” singer Dan Crannitch told M+N in a soon-to-be-published interview. “If there was anything he [Scott] felt that distracted from the hook or the melody, he’d try and simplify it.”
Supports from Belles Will Ring, who recently released their second LP Crystal Theatre. Out through Dot Dash/Remote Control, we described it as an “evocative and complicated album, put together by a band who work together as naturally as four limbs on the same beast”.

Leader Cheetah?
More like Bearded Cheetah.
I kid. The Crannitch brothers are good guys.
I quite like this band.
If they weren't called what they were called, didn't look how they look, and didn't play the Gaelic Club, I would sing this band's praises unreservedly.
Dan Pash (geetar, specs) is a quietly hilarious dude. Dan Crannitch's hair is a little obnoxious, I'll admit. Lovely guys both.
PS I'd totally watch a buddy cop show called Crannitch & Pash.

Racist.
Correction, groomed-indie-kid-aesthetic-ist.
The long locks are a trade-off for their 'concise' new tunes, perhaps.
We're playing with these cats next week. Will be good to see 'em live.

That song is pretty good, but fuck me if that isn't one of the worst band names I've heard in a while.
