Related: Grinderman, Homebake.
Following this morning’s announcement that Grinderman will be playing this year’s Meredith Music Festival in Victoria comes news they’ve also been confirmed for Hombake’s comeback at the Domain in Sydney. And what do you know: Icehouse, one of the strong rumours for Meredith, are playing too.
Befitting Homebake’s “classic” edition, the Iva Davies-fronted outfit will perform their 1981 debut Flowers in full. Other acts confirmed include Ladyhawke (aka New Zealand singer Pip Brown), Pnau, Gotye, Gurrumul Yunupingu, Cut Copy, Daniel Merriweather, Eskimo Joe, Drapht, The Triffids (who were just announced for Queenscliff in Victoria), Architecture in Helsinki, The Vines, The Church, The Jezabels, Kimbra, C.W. Stoneking, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and actor-turned-singer Noah Taylor. There will also be a live performance of popular SBS quiz show RocKwiz. More acts to be announced.
Tickets ($95) on sale on August 15, 9am. More details here.

You know, that's almost a line-up that would get me to Homebake.
Despite the fact that I thought the Grinderman 2 album was below par, I enjoyed their live set at Melbourne BDO. I reckon they would be fun at Meredith. Nick Cave = fun? You better believe it. Maybe he can do a duet with S.mouse!
Fkn. I meant Homebake, not Meredith.
A good line-up for Homebake. They have credible bands like Grinderman, Triffids and The Church. Will that attract the bogan majority who wants Powerfinger and Hilltop Hoods?
As usual, the rest of the bill is just whoever Triple J happens to be pushing.
Lots of bands from the IMC agency roster, but that's not surprising since they run Homebake.
They could do Stagger Lee!
Genius! I think kuroneko would approve.
