– To coincide with the release of his new album Making Mirrors, Gotye has arranged for a 10-piece mini-orchestra to accompany him on a national tour. The orchestra will include Gotye (aka Wally De Backer) on vocals, midi marimba and drums, as well as a 3-piece horn section, keyboards, guitar, bass, percussion and backing vocals. There will also be visuals by the likes of Rubber House, Lucinda Schreiber, Mechanical Apple and PictureDRIFT. *Making Mirrors – Gotye’s third full-length – will be released on August 19 via Eleven. It’ll be previewed at a pair of Sydney Opera House shows this month; the first of which has sold out.

– Two years in the making, Divide by Margins will finally see the light of day in October. Released through Casadeldisco Records (Harmony, Oh Mercy, The Nation Blue), it’s the second album for the Melbourne instrumental outfit, following their 2009 self-titled debut. An August tour of Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne was originally planned to coincide with the release of the Suspend EP (mixed and arranged by JoyBoyRock), but “technical difficulties” has delayed its release. It will now be available with pre-orders of Divide. Details soon.

Following a 40-date odyssey through Europe, the band have been working on the follow-up to 2009’s Man, You Should Explode with new drummer Todd Pickett. Supports from fellow West Australians The Floors.

– Following a trio of shows in June, Tex Perkins has announced a fully fledged national tour in support of new album Tex Perkins & The Dark Horses. Perkins will showcase songs from the new album with his Dark Horses bandmates - Charlie Owen, Joel Silbersher and two new members, bassist Steve Hadley and drummer Gus Agars.
