SWH, Straight Arrows In ‘Ultimate Garage Grindhouse Double Feature’

The self-described “ultimate garage grindhouse double feature” – Melbourne’s Super Wild Horses and Sydney’s Straight Arrows – will play shows in their respective hometowns this month.

Both bands will play in Sydney (GoodGod Small Club on August 19 with The Gooch Palms) and Melbourne (August 26 at the Gasometer with The Bonniwells), with Super Wild Horses also doing a free in-store at Repressed Records in Sydney on August 20.

The shows will mark The Straight Arrows’ last on Australian soil before they head to the US for an extensive run of shows in support of debut album It’s Happening. The band are among a sizeable Australian contingent heading to Memphis for this year’s Goner Fest. (Report from last year here.

Meanwhile, Super Wild Horses have a split 7” out with Melbourne “supergroup” Boomgates. It features the track ‘Black Book’, which is currently doing the independent radio rounds.

depends how fast you can walk, i would estimate it to be about an hour and a halves walk from shirlows to good god

That's a slow walk. Train from Sydenham to Town Hall is 10 mins. Do that.
