The newly re-opened Palais in Hepburn Springs, Victoria, provides the perfect setting for Witch Hats’ smoky new video.
Directed by Aimée-Lee X (Belles Will Ring’s Come To The Village’), the clip is for ‘Hear Martin’, a keyboard-driven story about “Australia’s most infamous marksman”, and the first single from the band’s second LP Pleasure Syndrome. The album was recorded over seven days in mid-March at Head Gap Studios in Melbourne with “anti-producer” Casey Rice (The Dirty Three, Tortoise).
“The sound is probably somewhere in between our first album [Cellulite Soul’s] studio sound and our second EP [Solarium Down The Causeway’s] ratty warehouse sound,” bass player Ash Buscombe told M+N back in April. It’ll be out in October.

Seriously, you should start some sort of Matt fan club. I had a friend visiting from the Gold Coast and we went to a Hats show and she wouldn't shut up about how hot he was all bloody night. And every time I click attending a Witch Hats gig on facebook she chimes in with Matt worship.
