Related: The Vasco Era, Lunchbox.
After last week’s Brisbane debut as part BIGSOUND, M+N’s Lunchbox series returns to its spiritual home for its 14th show.
Melbourne three-piece The Vasco Era will play a free gig at the Workers Club in Fitzroy (on the outskirts of Melbourne’s CBD), on October 7, 1pm. The band will play songs from their self-titled third album, which is out on October 14 through Inertia. It was cut live at Melbourne’s Sound Park studios with producer Steve Schram (Eagle and The Worm), and features first single ‘Child Bearing Hips’.
As always, the performance will be recorded for later consumption on M+N TV. There’ll also be a sausage sizzle and cheap beers on the day. Past Lunchbox gigs have featured The Panics, Henry Wagons, Adalita, Gareth Liddiard, Pikelet and Otouto. Check out photos, videos and news about upcoming events at our dedicated Lunchbox page.

That guy in the middle looks like he is going to give us acting lessons...
He looks uncomfortably like he's just realised he's stuck his butt into that wall of water.
He looks like he stole my mum's middle-aged lady shawl scarf thing
ghoti-max I think you are correct, this is the first time our band has been mentioned without Nirvana. p.s. that is my girlfriends scarf-shawl thing, p.p.s. M+N # 22 Hed PE
it brings out your eyes
this is the internet speaking. can musicians please stop posting in threads mentioning/about them? it really destroys the mystique.
sorry but it's so tempting.
This is also the internet speaking, more musicians should post in threads mentioning/about them. If Everrett True can make bizarre defensive statements about all the criticisms of his reviews, then surely a musician can clarify the source of an effeminate scarf in the press shot.
Those videos are atrocious and really don't do anyone any favors.
david lachapelle is shooting the next one.
thin kidz

That's really very good. PR photos are a bitch though - picking the right one is always hit and miss.

Yes. They should hire YOU matthew.
Didn't really need four attempts at that one song. Two was ample.
I was hoping they'd say ''fuzz solo'' and pretend it was part of the song.
You're shitting me?!
How was it you cynical arsehats?
Apparently it was rammed and they played for an hour or so? I've only heard bits so far
It was fuggin' awesome and also pretty steamy up front.
The way my brain works, that reminds my of a TISM song called ''Muggy Climates In My Jockettes''. ㋡
Other than that, it was entertaining.....in parts.
thanks for coming. was the most memorable lunchbox yet for all the right and wrong reasons: 2 blown amps, nirvana and hendrix covers, a capella blues, rock and/or roll. pics and vid up soon.
Please don't put up that song they played four times. I'm already sick of that first verse.
What do you mean by playing four times kane? Sounds weird..
Blown amp = three false starts
Ahhh...that's unfortunate for everyone involved.
It was actually awesome. Prompted an a capella blues singalong. Whole thing was woderfully shambolic.
*wonderfully
