The band have just returned from Gonerfest, playing shows alongside the likes of Royal Headache and Straight Arrows. The band will also play Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Newcastle in support of double A-side EP ‘Run’/‘The Gold Is Gone’, which features remixes by Kim Moyes (Presets), Seaworthy and Myles Heskett (Machete Moon, ex-Wolfmother). The EP foreshadows a new album, the follow-up to 2008 debut Escaping Mankind, which is due out next year. Watch the new Brendan Cowell-directed clip below.

– A choir of Italian grandmothers known as La Voce Della Luna (“The Voice Of The Moon”) will join *Brous on stage during the Melbourne leg of an east-coast tour. The choir made a rare appearance in the video for new single ‘Little Ticket’, which was shot in one day at the Lithuanian Club in Melbourne. The tour is in support of Brous’ debut EP, which we described as “a miracle of structure steeped in retro soundtrack fetishism”. Brous features singer Sophia Brous and her all-star band: Shags Chamberlain (Pikelet), James Rushford (Golden Fur), sound artist Alexander Garsden and Joe Talia (Wirewalker).

– Mike Noga, the self-described “hardest working man in folk-rock” (although Ben Salter will surely have something to say about that), has been confirmed as main support for Okkervil River on their October tour. Noga will support Okkervil River in Sydney and Brisbane, as well as frontman Will Sheff’s solo show as part of Melbourne Festival. He’ll be simultaneously touring the country in his guise as drummer for The Drones. Top that Salty!
