OK, so it’s no Drones/Joel Silbersher combo at the closing of The Tote in 2010 or even Violent Soho, but an unreleased cover of ‘My Pal’ by Bonnie “Prince” Billy has emerged on YouTube. And with the man himself touring this month – he’s playing Golden Plains next week, along with dates at Sydney’s Opera House, Melbourne’s National Theatre, Theatre Royal in Castlemaine and Adelaide's Fringe – we thought it was too good not to share. (Even though it’s been buried online since December 2011!)
Played live somewhere in 2006, the cover has never officially been released. Time for a re-airing at the Supernatural Amphitheatre next Sunday then, Bill?
