Oh. The Talmud's kinda a very post-Second Temple thing and the Temple wasn't destroyed until 30 odd years after the crucifixion is all.

I know I know, you're gonna say ''Yeah, but the ideas of the Talmud were around in Jesus' time'' and some of them were. The Talmud's an exegesis on oral law that had been around for a long time. But that shit ain't the Talmud.

But you already know this stuff because you have the confidence to make a bold statement and that means that you've read some of the Talmud or, at the very least, the first bit of the Wikipedia page which explains all this stuff.

JRB, you're right on every point. I have read some of the Talmud. I do so daily, actually. But the Mishnah (pre-Gemara oral law) is the heart of the Talmud and Jesus certainly would've studied the Mishnah.
