Harvest 2012 Announced This Week

How does Harvest plan to follow Portishead, The Flaming Lips, The National, Bright Eyes and Mercury Rev?

We’ll have to wait until this Thursday (June 14) to find out. That’s when the official announcement will drop according to a rare missive from organisers on the Harvest Facebook page.

While promoter AJ Maddah has kept his cards very close to his chest in the lead-up to the event, strongly rumoured acts include Grizzly Bear, Sigur Ros and The Dandy Warhols.

Harvest will take place once again in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney from November 10-18. Stay tuned for the announce on M+N this Thursday.

unvisible  said about 11 months ago:

I hope it's a bunch of bands I don't care about, so I don't have to briefly consider paying three figures for the opportunity to drink nine dollar cans of midstrength beer in the sun waiting for some lame indie band to finish.

slothman  said about 11 months ago:

CUPS of midstrength beer

Pelt and/or Holler  said about 11 months ago:

^^^^^

what unvisible said.

Harvest was pleasant enough last year, and the expensive mid-strength booze was of decent enough quality, but the above still stands.

Ash-showoff  said about 11 months ago:

I'd love to see Dandy's at this festival.

Massive Attack will be there for shizzle.

everyone i know that went loved it.

anonymous  said about 11 months ago:

in Melbourne that's what happened, but the fallout was so great I think they'll be working triple-time this year to make sure it doesn't happen. I've got faith in the organisation working this time, just need to see if the lineup will be worth it.

Velodrone  said about 11 months ago:

Can't see anything.

I take no AoL announced?

asbestos  said about 11 months ago:

Are there usually sideshows for Harvest? Because I want a War on Drugs one please.

k2  said about 11 months ago:

Beck at the forum years ago was amazing. Was the Midnite Vultures tour I think. But what's he done for me lately?

Velodrone  said about 11 months ago:

I just saw the other thread.

Looks like I'm saving money.

Little Ted  said about 11 months ago:

No AoL..So Sad

Velodrone  said about 11 months ago:

Maybe AoL are ''rock'' enough for Soundwave?

mule  said about 11 months ago:

I think they get the headliners locked in to the tour but war on drugs will probably do a sideshow.

potcrok  said about 11 months ago:

Harvest Festival= 90s revival tour. Not that I mind that. Seems reasonable but seems to lack a headliner. Chuck a Wilco, Neil Young or Arcade Fire( not that it will happen) on top and I will get excited.

mule  said about 11 months ago:

Second announcement predictions:
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Wilco
Tom Waits

mule  said about 11 months ago:

An idea, we collectively choose a bunch of bands for our dream festival line up and make it a crowd funded event on pozible, raising several million dollars and subsequently gaining sponsorship for the grandest festival of all time...for fairness it will have to be in Canberra. But that is the only down side i can foresee coming from this venture.

k2  said about 11 months ago:

The only good thing to come out of Canberra post fireworks-ban is Peter Harvey.
