Harvest 2012 Announced This Week
News posted Tuesday, June 12 2012 at 09:00 PM.
Related: Harvest.
How does Harvest plan to follow Portishead, The Flaming Lips, The National, Bright Eyes and Mercury Rev?
We’ll have to wait until this Thursday (June 14) to find out. That’s when the official announcement will drop according to a rare missive from organisers on the Harvest Facebook page.
While promoter AJ Maddah has kept his cards very close to his chest in the lead-up to the event, strongly rumoured acts include Grizzly Bear, Sigur Ros and The Dandy Warhols.
Harvest will take place once again in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney from November 10-18. Stay tuned for the announce on M+N this Thursday.

i guess my bloody valentine would've been fun
Haha, that dude is still in 2003. And I like it.
je suis wanty MBV. me good at frnech.
I'll go if Beck or Neil Young are playing.
i'll do a shit if beck plays harvest
what Imbored said.
I hope it's a bunch of bands I don't care about, so I don't have to briefly consider paying three figures for the opportunity to drink nine dollar cans of midstrength beer in the sun waiting for some lame indie band to finish.
CUPS of midstrength beer
^^^^^
what unvisible said.
Harvest was pleasant enough last year, and the expensive mid-strength booze was of decent enough quality, but the above still stands.
I'd love to see Dandy's at this festival.
Massive Attack will be there for shizzle.
i'm crossing everything possible in the hopes one of these promoters will finally bring out archers of loaf.
wilco are coming for this i think?
i'll do an even bigger shit if archers are playing. they needf to team up with superchunk and play meredith
facebook advertising just told me sigur ros are here in november.
It's Thurs AJ... time to start the drip feed!
the dude on jjj is revealing the full line up this afternoon
this the thing where people spent all day in queues last year? ran out of beer mid-afternoon? think i will give it a miss.
everyone i know that went loved it.
in Melbourne that's what happened, but the fallout was so great I think they'll be working triple-time this year to make sure it doesn't happen. I've got faith in the organisation working this time, just need to see if the lineup will be worth it.

HATE!
what is that FONT!
Liars! Yay! Side shows I hope.
actually i'd like to see mike patton, beck would probably rise to the occasion, though i wasn't blown away at v fest.
Wait....WAR ON DRUGS!
Can't see anything.
I take no AoL announced?
Are there usually sideshows for Harvest? Because I want a War on Drugs one please.
Beck at the forum years ago was amazing. Was the Midnite Vultures tour I think. But what's he done for me lately?
I just saw the other thread.
Looks like I'm saving money.
No AoL..So Sad
Maybe AoL are ''rock'' enough for Soundwave?
I think they get the headliners locked in to the tour but war on drugs will probably do a sideshow.
Harvest Festival= 90s revival tour. Not that I mind that. Seems reasonable but seems to lack a headliner. Chuck a Wilco, Neil Young or Arcade Fire( not that it will happen) on top and I will get excited.
Second announcement predictions:
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Wilco
Tom Waits
and Radiohead
and a ween reformation.
holographic Alice in Chains guy
An idea, we collectively choose a bunch of bands for our dream festival line up and make it a crowd funded event on pozible, raising several million dollars and subsequently gaining sponsorship for the grandest festival of all time...for fairness it will have to be in Canberra. But that is the only down side i can foresee coming from this venture.
The only good thing to come out of Canberra post fireworks-ban is Peter Harvey.
Good point
