Forthcoming: The Laurels

News posted Tuesday, June 26 2012 at 11:00 AM.
Related: The Laurels.

What: Plains by The Laurels.

When: July 13 through Rice Is Nice.

Key notes: Long-awaited debut album by the Sydney four-piece. Follows last year’s Mesozoic EP, which we described as “something new, fast and sleek, perfectly adapted to survival in a changing climate”. Recorded and produced by Belles Will Ring’s Liam Judson in two locations: an isolated cottage in the NSW southern highlands and a sprawling farmhouse outside a town called Wollombi on the outskirts of the Hunter Valley. Title inspired by Gerald Murnane’s novel of the same name.

From the presser: “A search for meaning in an abstract, indefinite space; a reflection of interminably long drives from show to show through Australia’s rural landscape; the feeling that anything is possible but not quite knowing how to make it happen.”

its lovely as is all WBYK stuff - Love to see how they rock it in Photoshop - Im sure its all crafty at the beginning but do they put it all together in PS? hmm this is a Laurels thread, not an Adobe thread.

digging this heaps. ''one step forward'' is, perhaps oddly, the standout track for me..
