Watch: The Dirty Three’s First Clip Since 2005

Correct us if we’re wrong, but we can’t recall an official Dirty Three video since ‘Everything Is Fucked’ – and that was 1995! [ed – turns out we were wrong, they did one in 2005 for 'Great Waves' from Cinder]

The globe-trotting trio have finally joined the 21st-century creating released a clip for ‘Rising Below’, the first single from their album Toward The Low Sun. Directed by Emma Watts and premiering on a particular US website that shall not be named today (July 13), ‘Rising Below’ brings the Mick Turner-painted album cover to life.

The track was named among our best of 2012 so far, with reviewer Doug Wallen describing it as “loose yet layered, showing ever more tangles as it nears completion”.

Rising Below is out now through Anchor & Hope/Remote Control.

For music that seems suited to soundtrack, this comes off dull
