The relatively new blog Skydreams will launch an eponymous single-day music festival in Sydney next month. Slated for Sept. 8 at Sydney Uni’s Hermann’s Bar, the inaugural Skydreams Festival will unite many of the blog’s favourite Sydney bands. Those include Regular John (pictured), Darren Cross (Gerling, E.L.F.), The Holy Soul, Dead China Doll, Whipped Cream Chargers, East River and Through the Forest Door (The Laurels’ Luke O’Farrell), among others.
Skydreams launched in April as a creative alternative to social media where “people contribute bits and pieces of writing, videos, music, drawings and photos. We’re obviously not set up to make money or anything; it’s more about people publishing whatever they want.”
Beyond music, the festival promises record stands, tarot, an adult-grade jumping castle, “mystery food” and something called “Sophie’s Sartorial Sexplosion: Vintage Clothing for Sexy Idiots.” Ben Tarwin and Nick Hollins’ Sydney-centric The Ben and Nick Radio Show will appear live to open the festival, with Reckless Vagina’s Daniel Corboy as a roving reporter.
Tickets are on sale now via Oztix for $15 + booking fee or $20 at the door. The festival starts at 3pm and is 18+ only. Full line-up below, plus the official festival mixtape.

I used to think Richard in Your Mind were Regular John, and whenever people would talk about RIYM, in my head I'd be all 'I hate that fucking band.' Then I saw Regular John play somewhere and realised that the whole time, I thought Regular John were another band called Rogerthat, and it was actually Rogerthat who I hated. So I'm sorry Regular John, I really didn't mean it.
rogerthat, everybody

Nangs!
Were around before TM as well!
Interstate rivalry! Battle of the bulbs!
Chargers hands down. Top band! Also,
'Mystic needs amp' was 10000000000x better than anything the TMs could think up.
wow DJ Enjoy must be happy with those two 15 minute slots. I guess it could be worse. You could be Jasper Clifford Smith and have only one 15 minute slot.
You just seem angry about nothing!
(also, you should check that timetable again)
oh yeah, Jasper gets to share another set with other DJs
poor DJ Enjoy.
Would it be better not to name the people playing music between bands' 30 minute sets?
There are a lot of performers and people are playing short sets.
Why is this an issue, if you don't mind me asking?
yeah we sent out the internal runsheet as opposed to a public one, ah well! we just booked a lot of stuff, perhaps too much stuff, so we had to cram it all in, that being said i think half hour sets for bands is pretty good.
Also, there will likely be more dj's outside while the bands are playing just we haven't got round to figuring the logistics of that out.
and yeah, mystic needs an amp was great.
I'm just saying it's not a lot of time to play. How many songs in a 15 minutes set? 4? Seems a bit pointless to me. Just hook up the iPod
well we could have had an ipod then realised our friends might like to do the honours...s'all good.
not much honour in a 4 song set. Here's what I would play:
Street Player -- Chicago
The Sign -- Ace of Base
Hey Ya -- Booker T Jones cover version
Starships -- Nicki Minaj
thank you, you've been a great audience
Maybe Dj should Dj at Skydreams Dos!
I'm available for any festival set -- Summadayze, Meredith, Falls, Port Fairy Folk Festival.
I'll only do 15 minute sets and play four songs
I tried to work out what Skydreams Festival is
