The line-up is enough to get anyone's attention – My Disco, The Laurels, Songs, Pop Singles, Michael Ozone and many more – but mainstay Sydney venue GoodGod Small Club has also put together a ridiculous video hosted by Kirin J Callinan to herald their upcoming second birthday. Callinan hits the dancefloor, praises No Zu and Client Liaison and interviews some of the scheduled talent as well as two Glebe girls.
Taking inspiration from "the lo-fi exuberance of '80s public-access variety TV shows," the Goodgod Sydney Dance Show video is the first of two segments, with the second coming next week. Spanning Sept. 29 and Sept. 30, the birthday blowout features a "10-act Smash Hits bandstand" on Saturday – including a one-off musical tribute to reggae-punk legends No Fixed Address, the first Aboriginal band to ever tour overseas – and a packed club night on Sunday with a house band led by Midnight Juggernauts' Daniel Stricker. Full line-up and ticket info here.
In other birthday news, the venue will host the first birthday of Sydney management and touring company Astral People tomorrow night (Sept. 15) with Dro Carey, Canada's Ryan Hemsworth and many more.

eliza - what a babe
what was with those glebe girls? or what drugs do you think they were on?
They're all on the same drug. Irony.
It seems longer than 2 years that place has been around innit though? A great space.
Did anyone not find this extremely uncomfortable to watch?
figures. i like hannah.
this was...weird.
Dammit, I want a Kirin J Callinan Towel
hahaha
that client liaison track is pretty great.
More acts should do the tea towel thing. I'm far more likely to buy a tea towel than a t-shirt these days.
now with second segment!
No it really comes into its own in the second half. You just have to accept I don't understand music and that people can't dance with a camera pointed at them.
