Premiere: Fishing ‘Choy Lin’

Two years after their bubbly pop collage ‘OOOO’, Blue Mountains duo Fishing are back with ‘Choy Lin’. Making its Australian premiere on M+N, it’s toned down by comparison to that earlier calling card, but still just as pleasantly stuttered and overflowing with warm and fuzzy good vibes.

The song is from a 7” due out next month with the B-side ‘White Sheet Beach’, already up for pre-order. It’s also a holdover until an album out early next year, released on Yes Please (Oliver Tank, Guerre) in Australia and on Lefse's sister label Waaga in the US, UK, Europe and Japan.

Fishing are doing a five-date Australian tour to launch the single. The duo have previously supported SBTRK and touring again soon with Deep Sea Arcade. They had four releases last year – 36 tracks all up – and did remixes for Jonathan Boulet, Alpine, Cloud Control, Jinja Safari and Guerre.

Says the presser: “Fishing are from that deep green inland sea just 38 nautical miles west of Sydney, known as the Blue Mountains. You can hear it in their music too. Deep, beat-driven ocean-scapes that sweep you far away while keeping your feet firmly tapping something catchy.”
