– Cosmic Psychos will break an 18-month drought of gigs with back-to-back nights at – where else? – their beloved Tote. The Nov. 3 date was announced promptly after the Nov. 2 one sold out “in a matter of hours,” so don’t sleep on this one once tickets go on sale at 9am Monday (Oct. 1) via the Tote's website. The sets promise to cut right across the band’s nearly 30-year discography, and there will be filming for a bonus disc of their crowd-funded doco Blokes You Trust. Support on the first night comes from The Dukes of Deliciousness, featuring the son of late Cosmic Psychos guitarist Robbie Rocket.

– Touring behind their upcoming Wrapped Coast 12”, My Disco are doing four East Coast dates in addition to their sold-out Melbourne Festival gig with Shellac. The 12” comes out globally Oct. 16 through Temporary Residence Ltd., with a bonus track via iTunes and vinyl on sale in person at the Shellac gig.

Sat Sept 29 – GOODGOD second birthday @ GOODGOD, Sydney, NSW
Sun Sept 30 – The Patch, Wollongong, NSW

My Disco - Wrapped Coast (Factory Floor's The Michael Cliffe House Remix ) by Temporary Residence Ltd
– Kicking off last night in Sydney, Melbourne’s Nun are doing a gradual tour behind their defiantly catchy ‘Solvents’ 7”, out now on Nihilistic Orbs. Of the remaining dates, all but Adelaide feature support from label-mates Repairs. “Nun’s sound ranges from sinister drone orgy to hyperkinetic synth punk and über-saturated gothic psychosis,” says the Miles Brown-penned bio. In other words, expect smoke.
Fri, Sept 28 – Croatian Club, Newcastle, NSW (Sound Summit showcase)
Sat, Oct 13 – Gasometer, Melbourne, VIC
Fri, Nov 9 – Metro, Adelaide, NSW

Space Bong mini-tour September 2012

Having peddled their degenerate form of doom across Australia for the last 6 years, Space Bong are a band operating on another level.
They are one of the rawest, heaviest, and above all believable doom bands on earth — as every bit as dark as Sunn O))) and Kharnate, and as in-tune with drone as Earth and Yob. There is nothing ambiguous about the weight of their their nihilistic sludge; nothing is faked or forced.
Now – in the middle of recording their long-awaited new album ‘Deadwood to Worms’ – this South Australia sextet are hitting a string of shows on the east side of Australia, including an appearance at ThisIsNotArt 2012 in newcastle.
Be sure to catch then when they come through your town. Drone-merchants take note.
