Premiere: Teeth & Tongue ‘The Party Is You’

Talk about drawing us in. That overcast voice, that metamorphosing guitar, that ticking drum machine: Teeth & Tongue’s magnetic new single ‘The Party Is You’ picks right up from the atmospheric details of last year’s Tambourine, ranked #12 in our Critics Poll. A worthy sequel to that album’s EG-Award-nominated 'Unfamiliar Skirts', the song seethes with Jess Cornelius’ usual interpersonal drama while guitarist Marc Regueiro-Mckelvie matches her brooding at every turn.

Timed with a trip to New York’s CMJ festival, the song follows US attention from VH1, Nylon and MTV, and should just tide us over while Teeth & Tongue finish their third album. 'The Party Is You' makes its Australian premiere on M+N and can be downloaded below for the price of an email address.

Still, the question remains: was a quasi-African porn homage involved?
