George Clinton To Bring P-Funk To Golden Plains

Related: Golden Plains.
Earlier this year it was Nile Rodgers and Chic bringing the funk to the Supernatural Amphitheatre for an extended set packed full of hits on the final night of Golden Plains. Next year, it’ll be none other than George Clinton.
Along with the 17-piece – yes, you read that correctly, SEVENTEEN PIECE – Parliament Funkadelic, Clinton will be performing a “two hour funk extravaganza” from across his career. The 71-year-old Clinton was one of the chief instigators of the 1970s funk movement, along with Sly Stone and James Brown. He was the mastermind behind Parliament and Funkadelic, and now tours with an amalgamation of those bands. His multi-sensory shows also tend to feature men in diapers, women on roller skates and the very epic 10-minute-plus guitar odyssey ‘Maggot Brain’.
Clinton now joins the recently announced Cat Power, who will perform the sunset slot on the first night. As for “most” of the rest of the line-up, you’ll have to wait until Tuesday. Golden Plains Lucky Seven will take place from March 9-11 in Meredith, Victoria.
The ballot is currently open here.

Oh my GOD I can't even imagine how funky Cat Power's gonna sound now.
maybe you're thinking of the cat empire?
I just got excited, but then had a hawkwind flashback.
I saw Clinton at Blues and Roots a few years back and he was top draw. This is a good signing for Aunty.

Can Useless Children open procedures on the Sunday morning, please?
only 10 posts for the first archers reference on a meredith thread, the pro archers brigade was pretty slow this morning.
Fresh & Onlys and Lotus Plaza, please
RIP Gary Shider. The show I saw a few years ago at QBH was pretty messy. Be prepared for Clinton entering around the 1 hour mark and spruiking his granddaughter HARD. Otherwise keen.
Presumably Bernie Worrell's still playing with George?
I went to that QBH show as well. A friend of mine caught the towel thrown into the crowd, and we snuck backstage (past someone from Jet, from memory) and got it signed by the great man. George drew Atomic Dog on the towel, and signed it. Best memorabilia ever.
So is this happening on Night 2? Anyone wanna give me a lift to Future Fest to see the fookin Roses?
That qbh gig was out of control
