Video Premiere: Hungry Kids Of Hungary ‘Twin Cities’

Daily routines – from downing breakfast and coffee to absently chatting on the phone – take on a stilted repetition through stop-motion in the new video for Hungry Kids of Hungary’s ‘Twin Cities’. Directed by Timothy Melville from Melbourne collective Oh Yeah Wow, the clip sees the Brisbane quartet wake up wasted before dreaming of California over ringing guitar-pop that does the same.

Led by Dean McGrath’s anxious yet clean-cut vocal turn, the song culminates the only way it really could – in harmonies, handclaps and confetti. ‘Twin Cities’ is the second single from the band’s Forthcoming second album, You’re a Shadow, recorded in Sydney’s famed Alberts Studios with Wayne Connelly (You Am I, The Vines). It follows last year’s lead single ‘Sharp Shooter’.

You’re a Shadow is out February 22 through Stop Start/EMI. Hungry Kids of Hungary plan to tour extensively – nationally and abroad – this year.

Ah, now I know why there have been two posts on this band in the past week -- Darren Levin is the bass player.
