I subsribe to the barefoot investor. He claims he gives real world advise that isn't tainted by corporate sponsorship or that he has a vested interest in anything, however, at the end of the day, he is running a company that earns money through advertising certain financial products, so it's hard to tell if he's advise is any better or worse than any financial advisor or financial company...

Has anyone had either sucess stories or horror stories with any Australian investment companies - i.e. MLC, Colonial First State, AMP, IOOF and any LIC's (Argo, AFI) - it's hard to go on the word of a fund manager or customer consultant, the media, advisors, etc.

So, if anyone has any tips or horror stories, please share.
