Gotye Makes Billboard History With #1 ‘Hat-Trick’

Comment I Made about 2 years ago

You know, I read an article on here recently and a particular user was complaining about how Mess + Noise don't really report news anymore. Rather, they just tend to piggyback off someone else's news or merely report things like this article, which isn't really news at all. This isn't really a problem for me. However, the absence of real news is becoming apparent. I dare say that M+N have become a bit lazy and aren't really out there looking for a story. It's more along the lines of some dude Googling 'Gotye' in the morning and then pressing F5 every half hour. And that's fine. What ever gets you guys a Hyundai sponsorship and keeps the Volleys on your feet. But reviewing a Pitchfork review that most people with their fingers on the pulse had already become aware of the day before? Come on guys. Show us something fresh and new like you used to do. This used to be a place where 9 times out of 10 I could log in and check out some wicked new music. Now it's just a website compiling everything I already knew, which is probably why you don't see me much these days. You've changed, Mess + Noise. Now you're just somebody that I used to know.

Keep it up guyz. Ur doing gr8

Michael Crafter kicked out of his own band

Comment I Made about 2 years ago

It turns out he's for real. The rest of the band is out. He's taken over their Facebook page and is asking for audition videos. He's making another Confession line up. Thus spawning this AWESOME joke that I've laughed at several times today. I wish I came up with it.

What do Dave Grohl and Michael Crafter have in common? They've both got another Confession to make

Classic stuff. Please refer to the Confession facebook page for more quality trolling

Michael Crafter kicked out of his own band

Discussion I Made about 2 years ago

Ex-I Killed The Prom Queen vocalist Michael Crafter has just been kicked out of Confession, the band that he formed. The band announced this over Facebook this morning, after which Crafter wrote something to the effect of ''You can't kick me out because YOU'RE kicked out'' and then fired the rest of the band

Good new Sydney bands?

I really like Snakeface at the moment. I think they're from Sydney. I can't be sure though. Definitely OZ.

Albums that don't sound quite as good on vinyl

Discussion I Made about 2 years ago

I think that for the most part, a vinyl record sounds just as good, if not better than a CD, but how about those vinyl records that don't? I came across an original vinyl copy of Led Zeppelin III last week ($4) and I must say, I was really quite disappointed at how poor the sound was. I grew up listening to Zeppelin on vinyl, but my Dad's copy of III was scratched and would f*ck up every time we tried to play it, so I've really only ever heard it on CD. And CD is superior. Very little bass, no bass drum, and Celebration Day doesn't ''explode'' after the intro like it does on the CD, which is probably due to the lack of bass. In it's defence, Since i've been loving you sounds great with the old vinyl crackle over it, but it's mostly not as good.

What else?

Have you got anything recorded?

Finally got around to buying the damn record.

Comment I Made about 2 years ago

I understand this completely. It's tough to buy something you know will always be there. I don't know if you guys can relate, but my copy of '...And Out Come The Wolves' by Rancid and 'Vulgar Display Of Power' by Pantera are scratched as f*ck and they don't play properly. These are the type of CDs that will ALWAYS be at JB Hi Fi and they'll ALWAYS be $10. But every time I go to buy them I see something else, and all of a sudden, that $10 that I was willing to spend just doesn't seem worth it. Ridiculous. I love both of those albums and I used to play them all the time.

I'll buy them again. One day
