Hey, has anyone used any of the Zoom digital multitracks (R8 / R16 / R24)? They're dirt cheap which has me a little worried, but they can run direct to a PC based DAW, and you can use the faders on PC as well.

I've currently got a Presonus Firepod (FP10), but I was thinking it might be nice to have some form of recording separate to the compy.

Or maybe I should stop fucking around with gear and finish writing some songs already... nah.

Bit sad about this, I've enjoyed so much of their music... but measured by raw number of listens Up would be right up there (I spent around 4 months listening almost exclusively to Up on repeat in my younger and more sooky years.) Still enjoy it.

I dropped out at Around The Sun because I wasn't big on Reveal (...and I heard it was rubbish) So I was pleasantly surprised when I heard some tracks from Collapse Into Now and then went back and listened to Accellerate... They seemed to be getting back to making cracking records.

Those two albums aren't a bad way to go out on, and their influence stretches pretty damn wide. Vale REM.
