Would that be the same dance studio that the second Little General album was recorded in? You know, the one where we had to re-record all of the drum tracks after some douche hit the delete button? Life is like, a champagne glass indeed.

Lesson 12 Probably not the best idea to personally insult your engineer at the beginning of recording into a microphone which may look like a vintage decoration, but is actually amplified throughout the entire studio for everyone to hear.

I just wanted to say that i am loving the shit out of my 1966 ludwig kit (22/16/13) and 1972 ludwig snare that i picked up a couple of weeks ago. It has left my previous favourite Gretsch 1964 (20/16/12) for dead. That is all.

PE are playing in the front bar from 1am until 2:30 am and the Jungle Brothers are playing at exactly the same time in the Gershwin Room. This has got to be the worst advertised and organised gig in a long time. There is no illusion about who people are gonna want to watch, and how the fuck do they expect to fit everyone in that front bar, not to mention the 12 piece band on that front bar stage. Total balls.

Dont' realy know... i wasn't in Ricaine, but Clarity of Distance was in the old EA with Bob and sounds pretty alright to me. I also like the fact that the film clip for Mainlanders has 87 explosions in it. As far as Blacklevel Embassy's experience, apart from rampant pneuomonia, and some differences in opinion about some production elements, it was brilliant. As I said, the facilities and the rooms we had at our disposal made it more than worthwhile going all that way. Other than the airfares, the costs were pretty comparable to here. I should point out that we recorded with Weston, not Albini.

The dude is obsessed with playing poker on his computer, and challenging people to billiards on the ridiculously sized billiard table in the EA living area. Both he and Bob consider themselves 'documentarians' more than anything. This certainly has its pros and cons. In terms of facilities and selection of gear that is at your disposal, EA is killer and would be difficult to match locally.
